But a succession of offsides and a yellow card for Kaino, for kicking the ball away when in an offside position, left the tournament favourites in a precarious position at halfway.The rain, light in the first half, was noticeably heavier at the start of the second and a piece of brilliance by Carter, who dropped a goal from 25-plus metres, cut the deficit to two points before Kaino returned.Julian Savea fumbled a clever grubber kick but it was only a temporary reprieve for South Africa. What is the RWC 2015 final without All Blacks? Unimaginable if the best team so far does not appear. Early scare and hard grind for the AB but they made it. Now they must raise their game to win the World Cup. Another fearsome haka and skill and power play is needed to beat Pumas or Wallabies, who do not look as solid as Springboks.

+NZfightfan boks might or might not beat the wallabies if they played but to say they'd smoke them is a bit ridiculous. Wallabies have been very very good so far in this tournament and won the rugby championship. I think the AB's have shown some vulnerability of late, first against the wallabies in Sydney, then the pumas in the pool matches and now against the boks. They're still comfortably the top team but I don't think they've had the best build up to the final, certainly not as good as the wallabies have had. But that said the only thing that counts is who wins in the final assuming that wallabies beat the pumas who are becoming a real force in world rugby.

They might wanna reconsider the rule that prevents players in Europe from playing for the All Blacks, we were forced to and even the Aussies and it's only threat I see for NZ rugby in the foreseeable future.
