Winnie Madikizela-Mandela on Friday (28/11) broke down in tears while listening to the evidence of a witness at South Africa's Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
Prisoner Charles Zwane, a convicted bomber, cried as he told the Commission he was tortured into giving a false confession. The hearing was adjourned when he broke down and could not continue with his evidence. Madikizela-Mandela wiped away tears as the authorities led the
witness away.
The Commission also announced on Friday that the dramatic hearing into human rights abuses linked to President Nelson Mandela's ex-wife would be extended by three days.
