Much love to Stogie T for giving props to Cape Town as the birthplace of South African Hip Hop and for me to have been part of that movement since the mid 80's and early 90's is a blessing. Many people don't know this but Mitchell's Plain , Cape Town is where it all started and birthplace of the real pioneers of SA Hip Hop , Prophets of Da City and Black Noize who even made a buzz in the States back in the day. .. and maaan that was str8 BARS son! #proudSouthAfrican

Witnessing so many African Emcees receive so much love and showcasing such impeccable skills on an international platform such as SWAY's Universe gives me hope for the future of our African youth. I pray and hope our very own Black Vulcanite from Namibia can get the same opportunity to experience this platform in the future. Shout out to Sway Calloway for remembering us and providing this very important platform to the African youth. "Mumble rap" is more melodic and if you actually listen there will be lines that surprise you. The fundamentals of hip-hop and rap don't change (flow, lyrics, youthful exuberance) but what has changed is how it's delivered hence the change we see now. In my opinion, South African rappers are starting to bridge the gap between making music and rapping but that's also because of the current influences from America.

@@meilyn22 we have no problem with anyone using their native language in hip hop.
