Do your research and continue to be established in South Africa 🇿🇦. @StirlingshirecastleАй бұрын
@Nataleah777 The prices you've put down are actually not that expensive. Cucumber is less than £1 & the butternut is one pound something depending on the size. When you convert pounds into Rands, of course, it will look expensive, but in reality, it is not. Those Yankees living in 🇿🇦 are using their dollars. Hence, they see things cheaper. Someone earning in rands won't have the same joy. Let's be honest & realistic.

@Stirlingshirecastle I understand and agree but the items do not change a cucumber is still a cucumber and butternut regardless of country it does not change however the prices differ. @Victory2me It depends on which job you're doing. If you're in retail & are doing 9 to 5, yes, your salary would be a bit lower. But you can still afford a lot of things & even go on holiday etc. In 🇿🇦 when a person is in poverty, they don't even have basics such as food & let alone material stuff. The so-called UK poverty is someone's luxury in South Africa. These two countries can't be compared when it comes to living standards.

If you want to go overseas for better life, never think of europe or USA. You will die with nothing if you go there. Tax is ridiculous. Thats why everyone is so angry because they are suffering. Everything is expensive. For you to make a decent living, you need to have 3 jobs. No social life, nothing.
@StirlingshirecastleАй бұрын
You don't need to exaggerate to make your point. The only people who're working 3 jobs are illegal migrants. Anyone with the right paperwork is doing one job & some can do two jobs because they've got a project back home such as building a house or starting a business, etc. I live in the UK & I'm doing well. Most migrants used to make the mistake of living in big cities, but they've now woken up from that ignorance. Living in London, Sydney, New York, etc, you're just inviting financial burden on yourself. There's plenty of cheaper towns which give a good quality of life than those overrated big famous cities.
@sandanista2002Ай бұрын
@@Stirlingshirecastle not true. In the UK it is not unusual for many migrant care workers on work visas to work with additional employers. Just because YOU might be doing well, that doesn’t mean everyone else is. Typical bourgeois nonsense. A lot of people live pay cheque to pay cheque (to use the Americanism) If -as you claim- you live in the UK, I do not have to explain the real issue about the cost of living here.
@StirlingshirecastleАй бұрын
@sandanista2002 The migrant care workers that you made an example of are being exploited by their fellow Africans who own those care companies that brought them over. For instance, they work 12 to 14hrs shift but get paid for 8hrs because of the unpaid breaks in between. Remember, these newly migrants don't qualify for any help from the council, govt, etc. But migrants who've got a settled status i.e citizenships don't usually work two jobs unless they're doing something back home. The cost of living is here, but the UK is still way more affordable than the likes of Canada, Australia, etc. Those migrant care workers are prone to exploitation due to the nature of their visas & the people who brought them over are using that loophole to abuse them. At least now they're allowed to switch employers, but still within the care sector, maybe things will improve. I'm doing well by working normal hours just like everyone & the big bonus is that I'm not under any restrictions, unlike those who're on work permits, etc. Try to go to other countries & you'll quickly notice that the UK is not that bad at all.

Hi Sisi...South Africa is my home my heart. But the transition between apartheid and politics has alienated a lot of people. When the old government was ousted we thought we would finally have fair recognition of our qualifications. There are a lot of painful experiences we are exposed to in South Africa that we are not putting the spotlight on. I now live and work in the USA and pray that I am still physically able to go back home in my old age. For us in the job market South Africa has very little to offer. If you don't have connections, can't buy a job or pay in kind...it can be very difficult to have and maintain your dream career. Some of these abusive situations are disguised as umjolo within the work space just to be able to maintain the job. The US just wants your hands, noone is interested in you otherwise. When they are done with you it's true that you become valueless in their eyes. We need to pray that God allows us to have some sort of decency in our old age. And if we are lucky die at home.

We are Black people , we are not meant to eat those things in excess . trust me unless that gallon you put in the trolley lasts you a year . you've got no business consuming that much sugar and then ad starchy food which also turns into excess sugar and you added cakes, corn flakes etc . Life is not pure black and white situations but so many varying shades of gray. Things that work for one person don't work for another. We must always look at the wider context. Life can be gold or pure shit anywhere. I am a Congolese and I would NEVER leave my country (beside I am beyond the age for emigrating anywhere) but when I hear stories of younger people I understand even when I don't agree. I teach younger folks to live within their means, never envy the shinny and glittering things and invest in improving one's skills in whatever field.

I watched you before on your farm and food shopping. While watching you now and you trying to describe the situation working in America. I came up with feed the greed. It's what living and working in America has been for some time. It will only get worse. All kind of entities are in your pockets in America. If you are not here with a high paying skill you will struggle to survive in America. My first day going to breakfast in Johannesburg the young fellow waiting my table realized I was from America. He was trying to get as much information he could about coming to America and working. I warned him against it. I did suggest if he had a group 3 - 4 people that can share rent and expenses he can make it.

Greetings sis Velile, I’m planning to go abroad but I have cancelled America on my list unless I win a green card or get a good job. I have been doing my research, watching American KZbinrs who are living in South Africa. There’s an American retired couple that just bought a house and a brand new Mercedes in SA. They said if they were in the US they would be still working & would haven’t been able to afford the lifestyle that they are living in SA. This explains why most Americans have experienced homelessness. I will try Europe but not UK cos kuyafana nakhona usebenzela u government

You only missed the important element, that the American couple continues to earn a U.S. salary or retirement money to live off of in SA. That American income is what funds their affordable lifestyle in SA, where living costs are more affordable. They still earn well in America, they just don’t want to pay the expensive costs for living.
@SoulBuddy2222Ай бұрын
@@HoneyBunches100The main point is that South Africa gives them a better standard of living, than what America could give them with the same amount of monthly income. This has to do with the exchange rate plus relatively cheap good housing options in South Africa.
@SoulBuddy2222Ай бұрын
My point is that for some American retirees, it is not a matter of not wanting to pay, but a matter of their monthly income not going far enough in American terms.

@@VelileLifestyleDecorTV Sad indeed and the Black tax plays a huge role in people not being able to save in the diaspora. People are expected to send money to relatives back home, so they have luxurious lives. Since I opted out of black tax, I have managed to buy myself a house back home. The irony is the relatives are still doing fine with my financial injection, they have more expensive phones and clothes than I can afford. I just chip in on necessary issues like funerals and school fees which I pay direct to the university. Our people will lie about needing money for schools or medical issues, just to buy a Brazilian wig, while you are washing your natural hair with sunlight overseas.
