Sorry if some of the comments seem like they’re putting blackpink under BTS, but objectively BTS is bigger than them and has been around longer. They’re the ‘started from the bottom now where here’ group! their company was close to bankruptcy (and it’s not a well known one ) when they started, compared to blackpink it’s harder for them to get where they are now, so I understand why some fans dislike them being compared to each other. ( and BTS members actually write and produce their songs)

No hate to you, especially since you're new to BTS, but I would avoid saying they are the "male version of Blackpink." I listen to both BTS and Blackpink, I am a fan of both, but realistically it was harder for BTS to make it to the top, they have been around longer, and are a bigger group. No hate to Blackpink, I absolutely love them, but BTS were more underdogs in the industry (at one point they handed out flyers for free concerts in the street) while Blackpink came from one of the biggest agencies and immediately received support (which doesn't invalidate their effort at all, they are all talented individuals). They are also just very different groups, the styles they do/performance styles/music video concepts are very different a lot of the time, and it doesn't feel fair to either group to compare the two.

This was a super fun reaction! Just friendly warning, you may want to avoid comparing BTS and Blackpink. Most fans get upset because BTS is much more successful, and got there organically. They have really opened up opportunities for other Korean artists. Anyway, as you learn more about BTS, I think we will grow to live them. Some of their more recents tracks like Black Swan and ON Kenetic Manifesto, are favorites. They also have three full English songs out - Dynamite, Butter and Permission to Dance. All three are very pop.

You can't go wrong with BTS, but to get a better understanding of their versatility, I suggest you initially check out: On (Kinetic Manifesto: Come Prima), Black Swan, Film Out, Mic Drop, Life Goes On. (Honestly doesn't even scratch the surface, but still.) Don't forget to have closed captions on; lyrics are paramount in BTS songs. Bts and Blackpink both are talented group, but every group are in his own world, they are both successful. I love them both so much, but Bts more, because they gave me a message about loving myself and how can I believe in myself. They make me happy and sad at the same time because of the words they say and the lyrics they write. Believe or not I cried when i heard Fake Love MV for the first time. Because i felt that they are in pain and tired, and i was right they were about to disband because 2018 was a really tough on them. Just one thing to mention,no matter how incredible BTS music videos are,they are better live. They do a wide variety of music, but basically they are rooted in hip-hop. All seven members are participating in making their songs by writing, composing, and producing them. ​ If you're interested in BTS' other songs, I recommend.... Mic Drop Blood sweat & tears FIRE On kinetic manifesto film Black Swan Save me→I'm fine Daechwita(Agust D 대취타, Suga's solo) These are pretty different from Butter or permission to dance or Dynamite.(Only these three songs are fully English.These three songs have been written in English since the Pandemic to give energy to people around the world.) And, all of their music videos provide English subtitles. :) Their lyrics are very deep and beautiful. ​ Or, I think it would be good to follow a story line. DNA: Joy of fateful love → Fake Love: Realizing that love was a lie → IDOL, Epiphany, The Truth Untold, Answer Love Myself: To love other people completely, you should love yourself first. They make a wide variety of genres of music like Hip-hop, Ballad, R&B, pop, EDM, etc. I'm sure there're quite a few of their 300 songs that suit your taste. :)

They write in every Album, but their (3) English songs was not written by them. The youngest also was their MV Director in one of their song that Top the Billboard 100, and their songs touches more on social issues, self love, ect. Their lyrics ARE DEEP... So i can say they are not your typical boy band. Okay here is the breakdown (per video) The first member of BTS that sings is Jungkook (main vocalist; sub rapper; member of dance line and youngest member of BTS). The next solo from a BTS member is Taehyung (but he goes by V; vocalist; member of dance line; has a deep voice). The next person to sing is RM (main rapper; leader of BTS and only member that speaks fluent English) immediately after (and with) him singing is Jimin (lead vocalist; lead dancer in dance line). Then the next BTS member to sing solo (the part about you make my heart light up inside) is Jin (vocalist and eldest member of BTS). Then is J-Hope (rapper; sub vocalist; main dancer in dance line and helps with creating the choreography...he is rapping to the female alien). Next solo is Suga (lead rapper and produces/writes most of BTS songs, however all BTS members have a hand in writing and producing their songs). Then Jungkook sings again. Jungkook is, as I said, the main vocalist of BTS and is a sub rapper. He does most of BTS backgrounds and ad libs. He also can fill in for any BTS member if needed. Total there are 3 rappers (RM; Suga and J-Hope) and 4 vocalists (Jungkook; Jimin; Jin and V) There are 4 members that make up the main dance line (J-Hope; Jimin; Jungkook and V). He's apart of the vocal line. Stage name is V. Jeon Jungkook: He's the youngest, our maknae, and he's a vocalist. He has insaneee vocals. So to recap: Rap line: Namjoon, Yoongi and Hoseok. Vocal line: Seokjin, Jimin, Taehyung and Jungkook. Bts have achieved many goals, along with getting so many awards and even a Grammy nomination. They've broken lots of barriers and created so many opportunities for kpop artists, especially internationally. They've been together for 8 years(officially). Just wanna correct a few things that I saw: - Jung Kook’s stage name is just Jung Kook not Jk, thats just short for Jung Kook. - J-Hope is also a producer and all seven members are songwriters. - Jimin isn’t main vocalist but lead, I think, although I do not think positions matter it’s just a known fact that for example Jung Kook is the main vocalist. I liked your reaction, My Universe has a great message. Watching the documentary about the recording of the song, I felt that precisely those moments reflected the essence of the song: it did not matter that they were from different countries, generations (the youngest of BTS had not been born when Coldplay was already playing) and language, the love of music brought them together. There are many things that make BTS different, one that can be a great example is that in the fandom you can find people of different ages, nationalities, gender, race, religion, profession, ideology, etc., all united by the message they give in their songs as well as the simplicity and humility that characterizes them. About half of the fandom are over the age of all of them. So if this group of young people has managed to have fans even over 80 years old, it is because of their talent and the quality of their work. 💜💜💜💜

As i've said before this song is so beautiful that it maes me both smile and cry at the same time but now I've seen the MV I'm crying again it's so beautifully filmed and made I'm just in love with it and hearing those harmonies again especially Jimin with RM and Chris Martin with JK it's so beautiful.
