Lifelong Gamecock fan, but I have to admit after the Florida loss I didn't give them much of a chance the rest of the year. Then After Tennesee, I was cautiously optimistic in hoping it wasn't a fluke or they they peaked last week. This game showed me that they have a lot more heart then I gave them credit for. This was a tremendous win, because no matter what happens in the first 11 games....you HAVE to beat Clemson.

Georgia fan here (but my wife is a massive Gamecock, and they are my 2nd favorite). You could tell even last year that DJ was ”off”. I truly don’t think he ever recovered from the first game last year, which just so happened to have been against my Dawgs. Seriously, we won on pick-6 he threw, and his confidence went down the drain. It was clear all year. Yes, he had a few good games here and there’s, but when they really needed him, he continuously faltered. You’re welcome, lol.

There isn't a bigger Clemson fan than I. However, I've got eyes and the truth isn't always what we want to hear. Our performance was horrific. QB play was the worst I've seen ever. Our secondary is terrible. Yet we have talent. It's coaching!! It is what it is!! Additionally, if Clemson is the best of the ACC . . then the conference has hit bottom. Congrats Carolina.... I'd say destroyed is an awful strong word for winning by a point. I can't imagine how SC fans felt when they lost at home by 30 last year. It must have been totally demoralizing. Anyway, this one no doubt stings; as Clemson as a team made a ton of mistakes today. Everyone knows that Clemson's offense didn't do much of anything in the second half, and most of it came down to decision making (on the field); and protecting the ball. When you can't generate any offense with only needing a FG to win a game, and you had multiple possessions to take care of business and didn't; it's a personnel thing. From a Clemson fan perspective it was obviously very frustrating to watch.
