your dynamite story reminds me of a dynamite story I got. My old man got some dynamite to break up a few pickup sized boulders on a new chunk of ground he got. he was of the mindset of "If its worth doing its worth over doing" and after turning a few 100 tons of Manitoba granite into pixie dust he still had considerable amounts of dynamite left in the box. one day in my teenage years dad comes to me and says "well Jon you'll be taking this operation over one day and we really need to take care of this dynamite so it don't surprise you one day." After strategically placed straw piles in the bucket of the 7810 and on the cement floor underneath the loft of the cold storage and about two dozen shopping bags he comes out with the first sticks....., I knew the "danger was real " when the man who was pretty sure that physics did not pertain to him came out of the shed with a bag of old dynamite carrying it arms length like it was a stinky dog turd......, I'll admit It took a few days for me to ponder the situation long enough to say "wait......., what the hell good was it going to do to carry at arms legnth!!!!??????"

Gee Cole.... even I know who Lawrence Welk is ! We learned about him in public school. He was the guy that shot Abe Lincoln with the AR-15 during the Super Bowl. I did a term paper on it . As you recall, that's what started World War 2 when we went to war against Canada and New Mexico. We have a memorial wall at the Elks Club for all the guys we lost during that war. They weren't killed.... apparently, the guys drank a LOT back then and they just wandered off and got lost.

Great day you two!!!! Just about lost it when Brian says "want to know what Cole said last night? Who is Lawrence Welk?" !!!!! Just made me laugh so hard. I am almost 60, and my Grandpa came from Mott North Dakota. His mother was from Norweigen decent, and one of the most popular shows he loved. We watched that every weekend. So to me it is so funny.!!!!! Oh my husband says to Cole that that is called a Booty Burner. Hot links are done here in this house.

You have me beat by 7 years. My dad had a John Deere d, and a John Deere he called the general purpose GP with the tricycle front end. We did most of our farming with that because most of the attachments fit on it, like three bottom plow , & the four row corn cultivator. Those two lunger pop-in Johnny's would dig those back wheels down to the drawbar and keep on chugging. My dad and the neighbor overhauled it many times.
@jacksak
@jacksak 3 жыл бұрын
@@earlhollar1906 I can't remember the models anymore but remember all the levers and controls and the sound I'll never forget. I do remember the tricycle front end. My grandfather also had a sawmill and timberland where the biggest thrill for me was when he showed me how to start one of the stationary diesels at the mill. If OSHA were around in those days, nothing would have ever got done. ~~~~ PS: my very early days were with my grandfather, because my father and uncle were in WWII.

Ah Brian. Cole is so young. He doesn't know Jim Stafford? Phenomenal guitarist, musician, comedian. (He needs to watch the video to Cow Patty!) I remember going to my grandparent's on Saturday nights, and if the Cincinnati Reds were playing, then she had that on the tv, otherwise it was Lawrence Welk. In either case, us grandkids were relegated to the basement to play so we didn't interrupt either! Blessings to y'all from Ohio!

Thanks for the great video. Was most interesting and enjoyable. The sprayer you have on tractor for spraying the herd works really well. Seems to cover them well for flys and whatever, has good coverage. Works well with Dad doing the herding. Good teamwork you two. Nice to see dad and son working together like that!!!!! The ear of corn you picked looks pretty good for level of production. Hope you have the 120 bushel an acre you mentioned depending on the weather this year. Brian you had good quotes today. Cole it is Jim Stafford not Tom. He is too young to know. stafford had good music. Funny about Cole asking about Lawrence welk. That was a Saturday night must watch in my grandmothers house and my folks. Hang in there Cole, just giving you a bad time. The power washer and soap you are using does great. The combine and tractor you did look great with that soap and wax. Good job Cole. Super glad the store is open and going. Good deal. Am sure it will do great given some time to operate. Just takes time to get going. Thanks for the store update. About it for now. You all take care and be safe. Cole, be careful what you eat. Might tear you stomach up those spicy meat sticks. Oh well. Thanks. Be looking for the next video. The Iowa farm boy from years ago. Forgot something. Appreciate the way you take care of you cow herd. Good herdsmen. Good farmers. Good people. Thanks.

BRIAN this is for you....... John, a jogger, is running down a country road and is startled when a horse yells at him, 'Hey-come over here buddy.' John is stunned but still runs over to the fence where the horse is standing and asks, 'Were you talking to me?' The horse replies, 'Sure was, man I've got a problem. I won the Kentucky Derby a few years ago and this farmer bought me and now all I do is pull a plow and I'm sick of it. Why don't you run up to the house and offer him $10,000 to buy me. I'll make you some money because I can still run.' John thought to himself, 'Wow, a talking horse.' Dollar signs started appearing in his head. So he runs to the house and the old rancher is sitting on the porch. John tells the farmer, 'Hey man I'll give you $10,000 for that old broken down nag you've got in the field.' The farmer replies, 'Son you can't believe anything that horse says. He's never even been to Kentucky.'
