MTR(mavalli Tiffin room) since 1926 is currently 150m$ company. In 1975, when India was under emergency, a Food Control Act was introduced which mandated that food was to be sold at very low prices. This move made it difficult for MTR to maintain high standards in its restaurant business and forced it to diversify into the instant food business by the following year, selling ready-to-eat snacks such as chutneys and rasams. Now they manufactures a range of packaged foods including breakfast mixes, ready to eat meals, masalas and spices, snacks and beverages.

always soak well all the items, before eating in Sambhar. It tastes good. some times add a good quantity of chutney to items for better taste. Do not eat half quantity of items only while putting it in your mouth. MTR is very famous in Bangalore for breakfast and meals.

Jenni and jenya being an indian i never ate idli with hands, and always i used spoons, but for dhoosa most of the indians like to eat by hands which is not just comfortable moreover which is sensible. The secret of this hotel is ghee, ghee multiply the taste of any food, moreover this hotel maintains hygiene.

The best way to eat vada is by letting it full soaked in sambar (and grab a bit of coconut chutney if u want). Where it comes to dosa u may have it chutney & have spoonful of sambar while ur chewing. Its not a traditional way but my favorite way of eating Dosa and Vada & hope even u may like it too

Well MTR batter and mixes also available in supermarket. And yes while making in home you can add some spices. But yes sambhar here is little think with vegetables, and it is made with lentils. So that's taste good rather than watery Sambhar.

While Dose is always "made to order" across restaurants, Vade is usually fried & kept ready. Vade is best eaten fresh when its crisp & hot. Trick is not to order Vade during late mornings & evenings. Enjoy your India adventures and have a wonderful time (: Also, coffee in MTR is bit strong. May not be for everyone's liking.

Autos are usually a bit of a problem in Bangalore but of late autos have become completely unreliable. A case is currently ongoing in High Court between Autodrivers, State Govt, Ola/Uber aggregators. Many consumers filed a compliant against auto drivers for overcharging & bad behavior and State Govt banned all autos for a few days in mid-October. I guess till things normalize, autos will continue to be a problem. 🤒🤕 So sorry, please explore Bangalore properly another time, Jenniji. Good vlog Jenniji 💛

Go to Chikpet, near majestic bus stand for saree shopping..you will have lot of options with reasonable price..it well known shopping area for wholesale and retail as well.... And you must try Andhra style masala dosa/ghee podi dosa andhra style lunch/biriyani in bangalore .I am sure you will like it...

I would request you to Visit Madikeri, Virajpet and Somwarpet Towns in Kodagu District in Karnataka State near Mysuru City, which are famous for Coffee Estates and Plantation.
