South Korea must win 2 remaining matches otherwise Australia will move up to the 3rd Asian team in Fifa ranking , if that happen they might get harder opponent like Japan and Iran in the 3rd round WC Q .

Pass the torch to who? What is Lee Kang In achievement in Europe. 2 goals and 2 assist in French League when he is playing from PSG. 4 G/A in 16 games or 1 in 4 games is it the definition of talented player. Giovani Lo Celso has 2 goals and 2 assist in EPL from 14 games. He is a fringe player at Spurs and our third choice number 10 at the club. Are you comparing our Spurs captain with a player who is below the level of our third choice number 10 at Spurs. I don't think Son will consider such a low level player as a threat.

If you actually watched the games and considered what Kangin has been doing for psg AND the national team it’s clear as day that the torch will be passed to him. He just turned 23, Sonny is turning 32 this year. I don’t know what to tell you if you can’t see how heavy Kangins impact is on the national team when he plays for us. Sonny is for sure still that guy, but looking at things long term, yes the torch will obviously be passed to Kangin prob after the next World Cup. Who else is it going to go to?

@@pjeung23 Kim Min Jae or Hwang Hee-chan will be the next KNT captain. An attacking player needs to have end products. You can be flashy but if you can't score goals or assists then you are not a good number 10. 4g/a in 16 games is unacceptable. 22 years old Son Heung Min scored 11 goals and 2 assist for leverkusen in 2014-15 in 30 games in bundesliga and scored 17 goals and 2 assist in 42 games in all comps ( scoring 5 goals in 10 champions league games at the age of 22) . So the age excuse is just bs. Brennan Johnson born in May 23, 2001 and he scored 4 goals and 7 assist in 23 epl games ( a way more tougher league then French league). So again age excuse is bs. Saar, Porro, Udogi, Van de van, Johnson are all younger than lee kang in. So until lee kang in reached to their level , he is not worthy successor of HMS. From HMS to Lee Kang In what a downgrade.

I’m agreeing with you that he’s not fit to be captain with what transpired at the Asian cup, but to say his level of play is diminished cuz of lack of goals and assists is laughable. PSG recruited him for a reason, Enrique plays him as much as he does for a reason and he puts up the numbers you are so focused on for the KNT for a reason

Lee Kang In will not be next captain of KNT, Kim Min Jae and Hwang Hee-chan will not play under captaincy of Lee Kang In. Sonny has a great relationship with his whole spurs team . Lee Kang In is not a James Maddison or Martin Odegaard. 2 goals and 2 assist in 16 games in a farmer's league is nothing. Brenan Johnson is also a 22 years old and Welsh NT player and he scored 4 goals and 7 assist in number 1 league of Europe. Sonny many times addressed him adoringly in pc. Sonny scolded Saar and Udogi , Porro, Brennan, Kulu in the pitch during matches. Saar, Udogi, Porro, Brennan, Kulu are way more talented than the joker Lee Kang In. That is why Son may find Lee Kang In's antics cute because Son played with more talented young players in spurs than him .

Why are you comparing spurs players to knt players? That has no relevance whatsoever. Do you know Kangin plays deeper in the midfield for psg? Not everything is goals and assists. I do agree with you that Kangin won’t be the next captain, we see eye to eye on that but only using kangins league stats (leaving out champions league and other cup stats and most importantly his knt stats) in order to try and help your argument that he’s a fringe player is kinda of absurd if you ask me .

Lee Kang In scored 1 goals and 1 assists in 6 champions league games do you think it is mention worthy performance. 4 goals and 3 assist in 24 games in all comps and he is your star boy. He played 9 games as lw or rw , 5 games as am but still having so poor g/a only means that he is a bang average player.

@@mijan4798 and his recent numbers for the knt? Where his role is completely different than when he’s psg? I’ve watched almost every psg match he’s played in, his opportunity to score directly is low, the teams focus is getting mbappe the ball. You emphasize goals and assists too much, he just came from la liga off a 6 goal 6 assist season. If you can’t see his quality based on his plays and not stats then I don’t know what to tell you. Look at his advanced stats progressive passing, dribbling, chances created. Don’t be so narrow minded. Not everything is goals and assists my guy. But if you want to go the route what’s kangins numbers looking like let’s say his last 10-12 knt matches?

@@pjeung23 I agree not everything goes down to stats, creativity, vision, etc are huge assets for a player that are not always measurable in numbers. What I'm a bit baffled about is what did you guys expect Sonny to say in that interview? I guess everyone is a bit oversensitive cause both fan bases have been throwing hate around but he's right that Kang In is the future of Korean football. He still has a long way to go to prove himself and hopefully he'll develop as we all expect him to and shows most importantly consistency but the truth is a lot of young promising players fizzle out. I feel Sonny is just damned if he does, damned if he doesn't and I don't think he's perfect and shouldn't be held accountable if he does something wrong, he's a human after all but I feel the level of expectation on him is just off the roof. I get the excitement of having a really talented young player coming up and wanting him to get more attention and spotlight because it means korean football can keep growing but there's no need to shit on other players to do so or not appreciate what they do and have done.

@@azz_89I’m completely with you on everything you said here. If I came off as critical of Sonny I do apologize for any confusion as I am totally aware and understanding of his side of things. I also agreed with the original comment about Kangin not being fit to be captain. Both guys are alpha dogs and have egos naturally, or they wouldn’t be in the current positions they are in for club and country. Son is still our best player and by far best finisher there is absolutely no denying that. I have him as the best Korean to ever do it. He surpassed jisung when he won the golden boot, I know that’s not a popular opinion but that’s how I highly I regard Sonny on the pitch! Thanks for chiming in!
