You should’ve toured the abandoned railroad crossings that are in Piedmont, i would’ve gladly told you exactly where the autoracks were before NS moved them

@@csxtrainfan319 I was definitely thinking about that while i was there, but Piedmont was a bit too far out of the way of the places I was originally planning

The other crossing is the CSX Florence Division Belton Subdivision. It is the former Piedmont and Northern Railway line between Greenwood, SC and Spartanburg but only operates between Belton, SC and Spartanburg now days.

Isn’t that abandoned? Or am I thinking about different line
@damon810railfanАй бұрын
@csxtrainfan319 Its not, I ended up catching a train on that line sometime after this video, but the only known train to roll through that line is CSX L799

Thanks GCR, I must’ve been thinking about line in Honea Path

@@csxtrainfan319 Spartanburg to Pelzer is operated by CSX. CSX trains L799 operates Spartanburg to Greenville and return during the day daily except Saturday, L659 operates Greenville to Pelzer in the evenings, unit ethanol trains once used this line. Pelzer to Belton is operated by shortline Greenville and Western Railroad, they interchange with the Pickens Railroad south of downtown Belton. Several miles south of Belton the line is abandoned through Honea Path to Greenwood.

@@csxtrainfan319I believe Pickens once in a while throws cars in storage at Honea Path. There’s also that graveyard of old locomotives near Honea Path too.
