i have to give credit where credit is due to Melbourne Croatia club wise and supporter wise not only in this game but in every match they played against each other. They always give everything they have as do SMH and that's what has made this fixture throughout history the true Melbourne derby. Total Respect to Melbourne Croatia.

10 A-league grand finals will not match the excitement and passion of this final in 1991. Thanks for posting. Great game and great memories. SCREW MELBOURNE VICTORY.

My and my mate got kicked out for climbing onto the ceiling support beams of the standing area roof, then 5 mins before the end, they opened the gates, we ran in and witnessed this goal. Hustlers!!!!!!!!

My parents were Italian but South was the only team for me. Middle Park then Bob Jane on a Sunday afternoon was magic. Durakovic at the back. Trimmers up front and Joe Pala's equaliser in this 91 GF was one of the greatest moments and loudest things I've ever experienced in my life. Respect to Melb Croatia, from Miller, an underrated keeper to Davidson, Marth, Biskic etc , quality throughout. But that in my opinion anyway, was one of the greatest games in Australian club football history. I don't hate the A-League, but this compared to Macarther vs Western United at Tarneit in front of 1700 fans. Aaaah but don't mention any wogs from the 80s or 90s. Have a PRIDE round instead. ???? Wot.

just under 22,000, but it felt like & sounded like 42,000.. great crowd & a great match..

it was even better than that champ, this is a rivalry going back 30 years at that point and south had no right to win thiis game. plus the crowd supported those clubs and didn't ffill half the stadium with bandwagoners

The most embarrassing, shambolic loss in Australian football history. Never have I seen a team choke like this team did...

Imagine if these 2 clubs play in the A-league in a couple of years. I wonder if it'd be successful or not.

The ethnics in the NSL actually built the game in this country and unlike the gAy-League, did not promote Pride rounds and kiddies playing at half time in LGBT Trans outfits.

Thank you. Nailed it right on the head. The wokes are killing our game at the domestic league level. I just want to see football. Im happy for them to let off flares. If you're LGBTQ or whatever, and love football, come every week. But this PRIDE ROUND nonsense. I don't understand it. The 'Greeks' vs the 'Croatians' - it was something special. And you know what, I think it lead to the quality of player available for the national team. I'd take Wade, Trimboli, Viduka, Davidson, Durakovic, Peterson etc any day of the week in 2025 if that makes sense. There was a real stigma against the 'Wog' clubs. Maybe, but for me, it was better back then. It was real and you had creative players that could unlock an opposition but also go in for a crunching 50/50 tackle. In 2025, that player's data wouldn't get him a spot on an NPL roster. Just my opinion. All the best

I was there for it and it was absolutely insane. SMH nearly had it won in extra time when a header hit the bar but that equaliser....I cannot describe the feeling. Great memories re-watching this

Any idea on the attendance for this one, Olympic Park looks bloody packed....oh, edit - 21,000
@FootballTalk-qt1um19 күн бұрын
I was there and just gut feel going to many big games at OP. there would have been more than 21000. Just my opinion, 24-25000. Officially 21000

@ I was at the play-off against Scotland and they say the attendance for that was 29,000 - I went to a few games back then and it was the biggest crowd I ever saw there.
