question if i may why would an engine and a medic unit go on a medical call is it simply due to numbers of crew on a call and whoever is first can start to administer medical assistance ?

@@SouthMetroFireRescuePIO why do your machines look so different to the engines we have here in the UK ?
@sterlingodeaghaidh50864 жыл бұрын
@@richardjones4080 All US rigs aren't that different from the European ones. In fact, some companies like Rosenbauer even make a lot of the US rollingstock. The difference is that unlike in the UK, what engines that are ordered are determined not by the whole government but by the running body it's self so for instance instead of the US government, or the Colorado state government buying the truck, SMFR is the organization that orders the rigs, this is why they are designed different, governments buy fleets in batches and often will use the same design throughout for cost reasons, and with that European units are often designed to be modular and can be essentially swapped out easily, on the other hand, US units are designed and built specifically for the station they're going in. Another reason for the design difference is that the US proper (not including Central America or Canada) is the size of continental Europe, so a lot of the distances are further, districts are larger, and so the trucks have to accommodate that. Now granted there are a lot of exceptions to this, I am only giving a nutshell explanation as I am not a true firefighter, I am a student funeral director who happens to meddle in the designing of fire apparatus as a side hobby.

what a cool video , since south metro took over cunningham fire protection , why haven't you change the name on the rigs to south metro ? and why are there 3 ambulances in station # 61 ( Cunningham fire protection district ) ?
@southwestfirebuff1323 жыл бұрын
At the time of this video. Medic 61 and 611 were the 2 frontline ambulances out of Station 61 (Now Station 21) While the 3rd medic was just a reserve. It was only used if the one of the 2 medics broke down or something. It's now South Metro Reserve Medic 2672

South Metro, I have a question for you. Have you ever thought about putting your tower, ladder, engine, and medic truck numbers on the roofs of your rigs? Because it may help in fighting fires in wooded, grass, forest fires, so drones and helicopters can assist in position rigs, along with getting out when the sh_t hits the fan? I’d Love to hear if you have? Sincerely Rick K. EMTP retired!

Also, if you haven’t read my comments about one of your Newer Stations, on that video, you should! The Old style doors, remind me of the horse drawn stations, where they open up like an accordion! I Love that style and whomever came up with the design of the station, the doors folding open like that, wins architect of the U.S. and regular garage doors are great, until the door doesn’t open and is binding! The accordion, older doors would be easy to push open, if say for instance the opener broke! Like be too hear how you came up with the accordion doors!???? Thank you all for your Services, and being the Night watchmen & watch women on the wall for us all!...
