More videos at Fleet Services would be very interesting to me. I work as an auto parts delivery driver for one of the largest aftermarket auto and truck parts companies in the USA. So I sometimes get to go to the Fleet services fire training center near where I work. The police and fire departments share the property and I see many different emergency vehicles on the property. Over all I like any and all videos about SMFR. It would be great to see and hear from other Fleet Services staff (mechanics/techs or office & other support staff).

Great Intro into what Matt does in the maintenance of various emergency apparatus. I love the redundancy and organization of these vehicles. Kind of a Type A myself. I think that is a great idea to include what he does, because without him nothing goes anywhere. Better Denver and Colorado Springs, but that's what happens when you go further North. Glad to hear Red 3 is multipurpose. So that's why there are some snowplows hanging around. Nice to have a Tracked Vehicle too. How about how serious the Lack of Snow can be for SMFR too? That Fire Attack Training should be an awesome class and I believe will be essential in saving lives of firefighters as well as trapped victims. The "Vertical Ventilation" Technique should be a logical way to safely vent, but when you watch the Boyd Street Structure Fire in LA in 2020 something went seriously wrong, and firefighters were almost killed with what looks like a Backdraft. No matter, this technique has proven to save lives when properly used. When you look at the quality of these video a lot of thought and great editing goes into these along with creativity. Thanks to the POIs that put these videos together and to all those that participate in the Patch Shoutouts.

Here in Albert Lea MN -- something is done on the front end of some pierce Trucks, I got a pick of a few. So wondering did station 20 open early or was the truck behind in delivery That had to make extra work to put an engine in station 20 for a couple of months. BTW I guess I need to join the club to Yes to Matt.
@kenturner23493 жыл бұрын
Pierce is months behind in new vehicle builds as well as vehicle repairs. A department close to me had an aerial that was struck on the freeway in July of 2020 and it was just picked up for repair last week by Pierce. I think Sta 20 opened on time with a delay in getting their new apparatus.
@TheHastingsumc3 жыл бұрын
@@kenturner2349 that a big delay by Pierce. With Covid clearly supply chains did help. Sorry to hear about your Aerial, that a long time without a front line unit.
@kenturner23493 жыл бұрын
@@TheHastingsumc It was a neighboring city's aerial but yes it does suck for them. Covid really screwed a lot of things up!!
@Spitfire85203 жыл бұрын
So this is an interesting question because Station 20 was actually late to open. It was supposed to be completed in Fall 2020, but the construction was delayed so the original engine that was supposed to be Engine 20 ended up becoming Engine 44 so that it did not just sit around in storage for a year. The new Engine 20 was ordered to replace the original engine slated for them and the new engine arrived after the station opened instead of before it opened as originally intended.
@TheHastingsumc3 жыл бұрын
@@Spitfire8520 that makes great logic on SMFD and makes Pierce looks not totally far behind. Thanks for the information.
