Fun fact: the night before Make Love not Warcraft aired, Trey Parker (South Park’s main writer) begged the South Park team not to put it out. He was so convinced it was a terrible episode he thought it would ruin South Park’s legacy and thought he didn’t have it anymore. The episode went on to win an Emmy, and is considered one of the greatest episodes of the show. Sometimes people can’t see their own genius until later.

@@stevedem76 Was there really a concrete point in this one? Kyle got apparently legitimate psychic powers at the end, which undermines your hypothetical thesis. There was also some good old fashioned South Park satire of the American Police system and a pastiche of like four different movies. You should take a lesson from the Tale of Scrotie McBoogerballs and be careful about assuming that South Park is trying to make a point.

I love almost all south park apart from the first 3 seasons, but you are kinda right in your observation that the best stuff is in seasons 7-9. But personally I would extend the golden seasons to 7-14, of course they all have some weaker episodes but I would say that 90% of the episodes are absolutely hilarious. The first few seasons are almost unwatchable by todays standards, even Matt and Trey have said they hate them. 4-6 is where they started to find their drift and 7-14 is gold. I would never call the later seasons bad, they are pretty damn great actually, but 7-14 are just so amazing

I loved this episode because I am a huge horror fan and Stephen King was what got me into it (I am obsessed with paranormal horror mostly, not the slasher or blood and gore type) and there are so many Stephen King references in this episode. It might sound a little messed up but the Red Dragon book is soooooo good! Ralph Fiennes' performance was so well done in the film. People forget that was him because all they know him as now is Voldemort from Harry Potter. RIP to Philip Seymour Hoffman though.

I don't think I've ever been more scared reading a book than when they let Lecter's coded message to the killer run in the newspaper, without knowing what it means, and then they discover what it means. Such great suspense!

It's great how they can tell an entire story to it's conclusion in 20 minutes. Super impressive. Like a lot of stuff happened here. They began the concept, had a great mid story, and they wrapped it all up. Most podcasts dont get past their introduction in 20 minutes 😂

@@Schacal6666 yes, PC principal is the worst character ever created on the show. He was alright for 1 or 2 episodes, but he shouldn't have been a permanent character. I know it's hard to keep a show fresh for 30+ years, but their changes aren't always funny. The whole idea is the kids never age, they've only advanced one grade all this time. But recent changes have been wholesale, and stupid.
