How about we cut out the middleman, which is what Health Insurance Companies really are, and Switch to a Single Payer Universal Healthcare System like Canada, Britain, Sweden, Australia and some many other 1st World Nations.

The insurance company has too much lobbying power to let that happen. And the US politicians only listen to rich companies. So, unless you can make health insurance not profitable, make lobbying illegal (which it should be) or change the us political environment. The US health care system is going to stay the same, until it collapse with the nation.

A lot of those people are coming to America because they have wait months to get care, not that I agree with the American health care system

Hello, I’m from Canada. FYI Most people can’t even get a Family Doctor here. If you need some type of surgery, you are on a waitlist for years. Our healthcare system is a mess. And the government takes half your paycheck to pay for it…

Another Canadian here. Only basic health care is covered. Unless you have a family doctor, it's a triage system so if you go to the emergency room if your injury isn't serious enough you can be stuck waiting there for hours. Specialists and medication are still paid out of pocket, which is why you want a job with good benefits.

Sweden, the NHS in Britain and many other European medical systems were once successful but are now all dysfunctional. East Asian countries like Japan, south Korea and Taiwan have excellent health care systems. Anyone wonder why this is??? Probably because mass immigration has skyrocketed in the west, whereas all of these aforementioned east Asian countries have a pragmatic, common sense approach to immigration into these places. I'm not trying to veer off into a"completely separate" political issue here but the thing about real life is, major issues such as immigration and health care aren't "completely separate", they intertwine whether we like it or not. You can't utterly dissolve your countries own borders, take in the entire rest of the world and expect any nationalized system within your country to not be utterly drained of the necessary funds to keep it running. It's simply not economically feasible to bring more people into your system than there currently are people paying enough into it. That's why "Western medicine" is failing but only in western countries themselves it seems... It's also interesting how despite these major issues the medical systems of other Western nations, absolutely no one within them is seriously advocating for their country's system to be more like America's as a way of supposedly "fixing" the usual within the health care systems of these other Western places. I also find it funny how all the pro profit prioritized medical industrial complex in America always bring up the worst examples of universal healthcare in other countries, rather than the best examples. I would take south Korea's healthcare systems over Canadas eugenicist doctor killer system any fucking day! At least South Korea won't aid and abet me in killing myself if I ever felt so inclined, just to save the country of SK a buck or two by alleviating themselves of a serious financial drain on their system such as myself. You know, not that I would ever want to kill myself but if I lived in Trudeau's Canada right now, things could be different. They'd also make it painfully easy for me to opt for it as well, once their agenda for letting mentally ill people opt to die for no other reason than there mental illness eventually gets resumed after being on pause for the time being. Which it inevitably will, otherwise it wouldn't quite literally still be on the table lol I also love how many a brain dead cheerleader for the Murican system only ever bring up the worst examples of socialized healthcare in other countries to compare ourselves with, it's never the countries with the best systems that these people who love getting constantly ripped off point to. But they make a good point, given our currently hopeless loss of grip over our own borders, we would end up more akin to one of the countries with a very shitty healthcare system, rather than have a hope in hell of ever building a functional medical system here. Until we get a fucking grip over our borders again, we never will have a hope in hell of having anything remotely resembling a functional medical system here

The more I hear about healthcare in the US, the more I love the Australian Medicare system. Even though we complain about how much the government underfund Medicare.

Also I’m learning that retail pharmacies aren’t always good at communicating with doctors offices whenever there is a problem with scripts/medication and they do little to inform the patient and doctors. Also with Diagnosis Codes needing to be updated between switching insurance etc.

I just want to know why I pay hundreds of dollars every month for health insurance, but then I still have to pay a deductible? What the fuck kind of scam is that?

I’m so lucky I don’t live in the USA. I pay max $70 which covers everything.
