This episode is listed as the 'most influential' and 'most important' on a lot of lists just because at the time everyone was scared and on alert... and South park just was like... F this guy.

♥ I remember being offended at the idea of South Park making a 9/11 episode so soon after the attack. While I waited for the episode to drop, I was intrigued on how they planned to pull it off, and once I watched it, I thought it was clever how they approached such a sensitive topic. Truth be told, it was nice to laugh again after weeks of aftermath.

I still have the TV Guide issue from 2001 that praised this episode for being the end of the end of humor itself as we know it. Said it was funny and up to the minute about the state of the country and its citizens, and ended with "It's nice to know that in South Park, things haven't changed."

that final speech is exactly the problem with post 9/11 nationalism. You either have to love the country unconditionally or shut up. What kinda messed up mindset is that? If you love your country you want it to be the best version of itself, that includes calling out stuff that is wrong.

America! Love it or leave it, Commie! Is what they'd say. 😅

I hear you. If a citizen of a country is told "love your country no questions asked or leave", that means your citizens are not allowed to question bad things their own country is doing. If a country can't take any self criticism that means they have no intention of fixing their wrongs and getting better. This is first time I saw South Park giving a very bad message.

I always had this crazy story and never knew when to tell it it happens to do with the one who will not be named, back on a military base in 2011 where I grew up I was playing counter strike online while my father was out on mission. Basically one day I was playing when I saw a team that looked like professionals, and after a while right when I was about to win I heard on one of the mics I heard gunshots. Some time later my mom told me turn on the TV it was anounced osama bin laden was dead. After years I found what was on the hard drive and how while my dad fighting terrorists on the battle field I was fighting them in the tech field

@@ambientluke1433they call themselves centrists but I've also never met a centrist that isn't right leaning. Not to mention the whole point of this episode is super shallow and surface level. Like it's a bunch of Americans telling Afghani people about how America doesn't hate them we just bombed all of their hospitals and schools and homes regardless of where terrorists were actually hiding and killed thousands of innocent men woman and children but it's okay because we're just trying to get a couple of those pesky al qaeda and it doesn't matter if we destroy entire cities and lives of people that have nothing to do with it because it's in the name of freedom(a blanket term for american interests) and revenge.
