•The reason why they have Barbara Streisand on there is because In its original airing on Comedy Central the episode was presented in "Spooky Vision" which added images of Barbra Streisand to the sides of the frame. This was in response to Streisand who criticized the show after her portrayal in season one's Mecha-Streisand (1998). The episode occasionally aired in syndication without images of Streisand. • 10:04 Whenever Cartman and his doppelganger are seen side by side, there is a visible line down the middle of the screen. This is a nod to the old film splicing effect that used to be done to make an actor play two roles and appear to be standing side by side. If the process was not done properly the splice line could be easily seen. Instances of this include Kenny being unevenly placed between the lines as well as other distortions done purposely. • In Mirror, Mirror (1967), an episode of the 1960's TV. series Star Trek, the Evil Spock from the parallel universe had a goatee while the Good Spock did not. Here, the Good Cartman from the parallel universe (who is supposed to be evil) has a goatee while the real (evil) Cartman does not. • The Tiny Alien being run over by Ms. Crabtree's bus in the beginning of the episode was also seen in Starvin' Marvin in Space (1999) and in Goobacks (2004). It was also seen in Le Petit Tourette (2007) but as a toy in the store Cartman is at in the beginning. It was also seen in Cancelled (2003), eating at the alien cafeteria.

7:54 I know this is a dumb place to bring it up, but bipolar and multiple personality disorder (accurately dissociative identity disorder) are very different. The city sushi episode, even though it’s dumb and the doctor perpetuates the negative stigma of people with DID to be violent, shows how it is; the person switches between distinct personalities sometimes randomly but usually because of stressors or timing (Dr. Janice switches around the time he has to meet the city sushi guy). IRL they’ll usually space out/pause, the dissociative part of “dissociative identity disorder”. It’s not impossible, but only having two identities (what Cartman’s case appears to be) is really uncommon, and DID is usually specified as “two or more distinct personalities”. Personalities is also a somewhat inaccurate word, since a separate personality, more accurately alter, is like a different person. Their age, maturity, and how their behavior is changes, along with their “true” appearance. Some alters aren’t even human, even if they behave/communicate like one. Bipolar disorder is very different. There’s different severities (bipolar I, bipolar 2, and cyclothymia mainly, the third of which I have). Very simply it’s going between depressive states and manic states. Mania is usually misinterpreted as being crazy or violent because of the term “maniac”, but involves specific behaviors and heightened energy with a lot of impulsivity and disregard of consequences. It is not just mood swings, or randomly acting different, as a lot of people think. My own mania is triggered mostly by stress and more uncommonly new experiences/weather. Idk what my real point is, I just like bringing up mental health topics and trying to clear some misinfo about it. Quick disclaimer, I do not have DID nor am I a therapist or studying this stuff seriously, so this might have some inconsistency/misinfo, but I’m fairly certain it’s accurate.

I have borderline personality disorder which has a lot of similarities with bipolar. I think somewhere I read that borderline was now called emotional dysregulation disorder Basically I don’t go back to baseline very easily (like Craig, lol) either I have, in the past, been really happy and excited with tons of energy and then suddenly it’s like something clicks and I feel tired, irritable, and depressed. I still understand how that part of it is going to happen. For instance, I went to Disneyland in February of 2020. I had a great time there, I rode a lot of rides, did some shopping. Hung out with my mum. On the drive back home I broke down crying because my brain had been so happy and upbeat that when I crashed I didn’t just ‘calm down’ I swung to the negative of crying. I know what to expect now.

A side track but still about iconic animation; could you consider creating a reaction tribute to the late and amazing Kevin Conroy? He passed away last November, and was the sole reason I got into acting. I have a voice acting background and there are some preconceived notions that it's not as demanding as regular acting; but the vocal training itself and perfecting the craft may take more time than any acting school. l feel like he's a bit underrated as Batman (ditto Mark Hamill as Joker) and even non existent in the conversation. PS. You almost saw me as Leon in those new Resident Evil games :)

I think the other Cartman's beard is a reference to the Star Trek episode 'Mirror Mirror' where the Enterprise crew ends up in a parallel dimension where they are evil. The evil version of Spock had a beard.

But yes its one of MANY Trek references in South Park, take for example in the episode "Something you can do with your finger" when Randy learns about Stan being in a boy band he screams NO and smashes the china cabinet, the audio of the NOOOOO and glass shattering is directly taken from Star Trek First Contact when Picard screams No and smashes his phaser rifle into the ship display in his ready room and in the season 1 episode Damien where Satan and Jesus have the boxing match and Stan tells Jesus the "Don't try to be a great man" line, that is also from First Contact, Riker says it to Cochran and tells Cochran its something he said, the full quote is "don't try to be a great man, just be a man and let history make its own decision."

With Cartman (Alternate) With the goatee, it's also an Original Star Trek reference to the Mirror Universe. In the Mirror Universe, characters are evil with goatee but South Park, they made Cartman good. So if they focused on the boys as well, they would be evil.
