You know you have great help when they are waiting for you to get started. I know I was like let’s and get this done. The grass just exploded up here too. I’d rather have to much than not enough. Last year was pretty rough being so dry in the summer so I’m all for it being rain and sunshine off and on. Thanks again for all your videos!

I have definitely seen an improvement in my forage diversity and quality with sheep. The clover is certainly increasing. It is all about management!

Hey Greg and Jan. Any possibility of attaching a GoPro to one of the horned cattle? Might be a fun video, especially if they’re RUNNING 😀

why these are great looking bulls, and they are enjoying that beautiful grass.

I like the commentary because it always matches what's being shown. So many farming KZbinrs show their own faces more than what they're actually talking about. The video is supposed to be about sheep and the sheep are only on camera for a few moments. Keep up the good work, Greg!

How far away is the bull mob from the cow mob? I’m guessing there is more than just electric fence between the bulls and the cows??

I just browser-searched gamma grass; and the article says to leave a 12-inch stubble height. Yeouch!! The article goes on to say it is a difficult grass to established and it grows slow.
@gregjudyregenerativerancher
@gregjudyregenerativerancher 2 жыл бұрын
You can graze it to 8”, it is one of the fastest grasses there is to grow back. It loves heat, has roots that go down 18’ deep. Droughts are not an issue with this grass.

Mr. And Mrs. Judy why do you not keep the fleard together at all times?
@gregjudyregenerativerancher
@gregjudyregenerativerancher 2 жыл бұрын
Cattle drives with our sheep and guardian dogs down past our neighbors houses would end up with dead neighbors dogs. Not the best way to make good neighbors!!!

How does auction work ? Do you deliver?
@gregjudyregenerativerancher
@gregjudyregenerativerancher Жыл бұрын
When we have an auction, bidder emails me their bid and it is immediately posted on our website auction page. When there are no bids after 8 pm within ten minutes the last bidder is the winner. We have folks that can deliver throughout the United States.

Do you worry about your fescue or other grasses or even weeds getting overly mature and going to seed? Thank you in advance.
@gregjudyregenerativerancher
@gregjudyregenerativerancher 2 жыл бұрын
Our sheep flock just hammer all the seed heads. They love them and it seems the fescue seed does not bother them.

@@gregjudyregenerativerancher is the fescue seed harmful to the cattle?
@triciahill216

@@gregjudyregenerativerancher I’m new to farming and grazing and concerned about our pastures going to seed because our small herd of cattle isn’t keeping up with the grasses. I believe we have predominately K31 and orchard grass, with a variety of lesser amounts of other forages. One of the tall grasses (I believe it’s either the fescue or orchard grass) is putting on a large seed head. Would you suggest mowing it up high to keep the seeds from maturing and dropping or some other means of management, e.g. grazing it even if the seeds are dropping or have already fallen? Thank you very much.

Mr Greg, what do you use for corner post and gates?
@gregjudyregenerativerancher
@gregjudyregenerativerancher 2 жыл бұрын
We use fiberglass corner posts and for gates we use poly rope from Powerflex, it has 22 steel filaments in it, super hot charge.

This is a catch up comment I am still busy in my office so I used my spare time to watch your videos and work out in the garden so this morning I woke up thinking about one of my great uncles who delivered boxes of meat to rural stores about my great grandmother and her son processing the moose she shot and dad doing the same for his moose, Mum AKA little Tommy’s grandfather processed his flock so mum didn’t have any problem with dispatching and processing for her freezer a small flock that a family member not me called rejects from an egg factory they tasted just like store bought chickens! That lead me to thinking about Lester and John named after Lester the Federal liberal leader and John the Federal progressive Conservative party leader when I was much much younger . Mum and Dad were good conservatives uncle Ed and Aunt Geraldine weren’t so I don’t remember who named the pigs but I do remember Mum processing the pigs head on her wood stove she and Grammie Amelia made head cheese out of what we were assured wasn’t our pig we were eating our cousins 🐷 and they had ours! The bacon they made wasn’t like store bought they sliced it a lot thicker and it just didn’t have the same taste I as a much older consumer would like to have a chance to try that bacon now. I just remembered a Mum story about the time her uncle gave her a roast of beef he was accused of selling her the meat by the general stores owner she set him right and never stepped foot in his store after that luckily the village had two general stores. I am going to have to send this comment now I will be back to finish it in a bit…I am back now to continue if that field had been left any longer you would need a drone to find the bulls🤔🙄😃 just kidding but I noticed that you couldn’t slip a folder newspaper under them let alone read a newspaper. I used to calculate pay cheques for another general store’s staff the highest paid staff member was the meat cutter so I found the interview with the butcher fascinating I hope they find an apprentice to work with them. I have been ignoring my alarm so off I go again see you later 😘💞💕💞🍀☘️🍀🖖🖖🖖🖖🍀☘️🍀👍👍👍👍🍀☘️🍀🐷🤷🏼‍♀️🐷🙋🏼‍♀️💝
