Now Indiana needs to keep extending their rail network. Accept Amtrak's ConnectUS plan and finish the train that will run from Chicago to Columbus through Ft. Wayne and Valpo.

That have this same thing already in place in East Chicago for some time now. They are also building the southern branch Heading towards Dyer.

THIS is exactly why I want to move to Indiana. It's a state that cares about it's people. We don't have that here in California. I'm excited to see this region in person in a little over a month.
@dutchbakery2195 Жыл бұрын
Ehm... Indiana and the Chicago area already has a lot of the necessary backbone infrastructure for a good transit system. Infrastructure that California does not have and has to at great expense rebuild or build new!

Indiana's current leaders don't give a rip about the people, especially the ones here in NW Indiana. The state has turned into a sort of southern state in the midwest, sort of like an Oklahoma place. Indiana used to be that kind of state but decades of apathy has led to the rise of the state Republicans. Most of them didn't want this program and fought against it. For decades also. It was only made possible by federal funding and associated programs. Nearly all were established by local and national Democrats. Indiana is just another southern state today, with the influx of a few strongly Democratic areas.

It’s illegal to build light rail in Indiana. Not sure they really care about it’s people in terms of transit

Its a shame they will be building a parking garage and not more homes
@StayPositive-sd8op Жыл бұрын
We know the brilliant mayor that puts down black people would never build more homes. A train is not even going to be needed except possibly at Christmas time
@draytonblackgrove10 ай бұрын
The influx of people as a direct result of this project will result in more homes being built outside the city. This project makes Michigan City a much more attractive place to live.

All this for 14 trains a day??? On the bright side, for less than $1b it’s finally a project that doesn’t cost a lot and supports future expansion

It would allow way more in the future I think they want to switch the Amtrak Wolverine service over to this line which would mean multiple trains a day between Chicago and Toronto via Detroit

Anybody watching this thats not in Michigan City you should ignore. This double track train is the biggest waste of money thats ever spent here. This train at the most might have 30 people waiting outside to catch the train. And the mayor just wants us to be like Chicago which no body in this city can arrord to live in these two building that the mayor wants to build. I see yhe loading dock area where lots of homless folks camping out there and the way this generation we have here yhat dont know how to respect things that they will be damaging on no time. And with the lowest number of police officers we have dont stick around for the pay. We hope this mayor gets voted out before ots to late..

I thought journeyman backed out of that.. And Hammon and Gary is so run down with crime whos suppose to pass a background check to work at these places. You cant barly find a doctor on Michigan City vause there all getting pushed over to valpo area. This city is falling apart!
