The nation of South Sudan turns ten years old today, a day that should have been marked with the usual Pomp and Circumstance expected of such a milestone. But civil strife and wanton destruction of lives and property in the last few years has forced the 10 th Anniversary celebrations to be muted. Many in the world’s youngest republic feel there’s very little to celebrate. Jeff Koinange is in the South Sudanese capital, Juba, and tells us about a country still struggling to get back on its feet a decade after independence.
