1. We need to vary our style of play. We always play from the wings and you can see towards the end of the game, Southampton sussed us out and began to get ahead in the box so we couldn’t score 2. Our defence NEEDS TO STAY IN LINE. The last goal they scored all the defenders were behind the Southampton player. We have to stay in formation 3. I never want to see Lichtsteiner and Koscielny playing together in defence again. We honestly missed Mustafi and Sokratis 4. Lacazette has to start. Either he AND Auba or just him alone. I don’t understand why he always starts on the bench when he has the ability to get us ahead 5. Iwobi is decent but he shouldn’t start the game. I’d prefer Miki and Bellerin on the sides and have Iwobi come on as a sub because he isn’t able to produce an end product as much as we need 6. Leno has to stop playing the ball. Too many times he was passing the ball to players in our box which only invites the opponents to attempt to score 7. It’s an unnecessary loss especially against a team that was 19th in the table but it’s not the end of the world. Chelsea lost to Wolves; City lost to Chelsea at the end of the day, it’s better the loss comes early when we still have the chance to change something

Im with you were was Leno's defenders the keeper shouldn't have to deal with crosses if the fullbacks and CB are doing their job. It is the job of fullbacks to NOT ALLOW wide players time on the ball to make accurate crosses it is not always possible to block ALL but when you allow that much time to put a good cross in those can be unstoppable by any keeper.

Kelechi seems to only care about Iwobi. Iwobi was the laziest player on the pitch today. He created nothing. We give assists to people who are just moving the ball to the next guy ... wtf? I want to see Iwobi do well, but he was completely lost offensively and defensively today. He seems to have adopted the Ozil body language of complete indifference. Iwobi doesn't go into challenges. He doesn't demand the ball. Doesn't take any opponents on. I'm shocked he was on the field after 60 minutes. You can tell, his head wasn't in the game. But this is probably the n-th game, where he is completely anonymous. He is supposed to be the creator and provide opportunities for strikers. We can blame the defense all we want, our biggest hole is in the offensive midfield position. Our most dangerous and consistent creators have been wing backs.. Iwobi doesn't score. Doesn't assist. Doesn't help defensively. Doesn't take on opposing players, doesn't drive the game forward. What is his role?

The entire player ratings was so badly done. Koscienly should have never got a 5, nor should Iwobi get a 6 and Aubameyang shouldn’t get a 6 either. They were all poor and below par for me. Miki should have got a higher rating since he scored two goals if the other players got those ratings. The entire rating system on AFTV has no consistency. Robbie is better off doing it alone, rather than getting biased people who have love and hate for certain players. Like how Kelechi always rates Iwobi regardless of his performance and how Troopz tends to always rate Miki regardless of his performance and contributions in the games that he plays. Appalling.

Have noticed that Aubameyang has the worst hold off play in the EPL. When the opponent presses our defenders, they are forced to kick the ball up the field. I have noticed that Aubameyang never wins any ball coming from our defense. Giroud used to at least redirect the headers or even stop the ball and wait for the defense to come up. With Auba, every ball up the field is lost.He doesn't win any headers. He doesn't run tot he corners areas. He doesn't fight the center backs. He is just useless, unless the ball comes to his feet inside the 18 box. That is too little for a striker in the EPL. He needs to offer more. Yes, he has speed ... but so so does Usain Bolt.

Ozil should've gotten a two, he was shocking. When you go to away grounds like Southampton and Burnley, your not suppose to be entertaining the crowd with dummies and flicks. You should go and play football the hard way to get the result that we needed. Stuff like that should be left for games at the Emirates when were by 3 goals and the game is already finished. Also, i don't think the likes of Ozil, Aubameyang and Lacazette understand that they must take their chances as the defence is hopeless at the moment. Plus, Aubameyang wasn't at fault for that chance in the first half, it was just a great tackle from the Southampton defender.

Was it me or did we play the ball across the back on way way too many ocassions & never looked like we were going to move it forward with any intent, we lacked any creativity in the middle & the link up play was virtually non existent. This was a wake up call & shows we are still a million miles away from challenging for the League, we are no better then 4th or 5th & thats where we will finish.

With these current defenders we have, I suggest we give a "walk away" win to Spurs in the League Cup. I rather give this win free to them from being humiliated by them in their own ground. It will be historical talks among them for years if they able to humiliate us.

Leno-3. Conceded 3 goals, was a fault for the third goal, arguably could've done better on the second goal. Overall well below average. Koscielny-4. First game back, was a little suspect here and there but overall a below par performance for his standard. Lichtsteiner-4. His distribution today was awful, I think he could've prevented the cross coming in for the first goal. Not his best game. Xhaka-5. He isn't a defender, was too far out of his depth at CB especially in a back 3. We've seen his performances as a LB, need him in midfield. Bellerin-6. Tracked back really well, got in some decent crosses, didn't have much defensive cover from Lichtsteiner, not a bad performance. Torreira-8. Again our best player. He looks a class above the rest, his vision and tenacity is world class. Best buy of the summer hands down. Guendouzi-7. Played well, constantly going forward, was very direct, created a number of opportunities. I like the kid a lot, has immense potential. Nacho-6. First PL game back for a long time, looked a little unfit and low on stamina. However, did get a crucial assist for Mkhi. Iwobi-5. Average from Iwobi, we know how good he can be with his pace, strength and trickery. Not his best game to say the least. Aubameyang-4. Didn't play good at all. One of them games for him, can't dig him out too much because his form this season has been amazing. Mkhitaryan-8. Bagged 2 quality goals, wasn't afraid to run at the line, may have been an embarrassment without him today. Bench: Ozil-4 Poor when he came on. Came on with no intent to change the game whatsoever, in fact probably hindered our attacking forward play. Lacazette-6 Should've started to be honest, when he plays we look so much more dangerous and lethal in attack and in front of goal. Maitland-Niles-5 Didn't really do anything wrong, wasn't really tested too much, looked decent on and off the ball, came on and did a job. Emery 7- Questions can be asked about the starting XI but other than that he had many players unavailable, defence needs to be addressed before the cup tie against them lot.

Don't ask kelechi about Iwobi, he will always be biased. Iwobi was piss poor today and has been for a long time in my opinion. His like a deer in the headlights when he gets anywhere near the opposition goal and if I was Emery i'm moving him on with the quickness. Another dead player for me is Miki (yea, I know he scored 2 goals today) but i'm not feeling him at all. Most times doesn't contribute and loses the ball a hell of a lot, now I know why UTD swapped him so quickly. Leno I like him but he had a mare today and needs a couple of slaps for the Austin goal! What do you think, am I being too harsh?

Miki a 7? I think you are too hard on him. He needs our support to get his game going. He is 29 and this probably is going to be his best season for Arsenal. We need to be behind his back supporting not bitching. He scored our only goals from midfield. Cmon, 7?

today was a bad day at work my id give our captain today a “0” he was shocking two goals was his fault he never jumped to any crossing and made stupid mistakes and the second worst was AUBA id give him a “1” the chances that he missed were terrible i cant believe someone in his caliber missed chances like that they were to easy he had been poor for the last 3 games i hope that changes

Ozil was on for 20mins Rob. Chill. When an Iwobi does a Cruyff turn that results in the opposition countering and scoring, Kelechi says that the players still have to go to the other end. Bias man.

I would give Emery a 4 today.. he got his tactics wrong from the get go. He started with too many defensive midfielders one of whom he put on the wrong position (xhaka).. there was no player for creativity at the start of the match. I would have gone with 4- 2 -3 -1 formation. Starting from the left back ; Monreal , Koscielny, Lichteiner, Bellerine. Then just infront of them; Xhaka, Torreira. And then infront of these two I would go with; Aubamiyang, Ramsey, Mkhitarian. And then Lacazette up top. This line up has stronger defence, creativity and striking force. So Today Emery got his formation and tactics wrong. We could have had 23 unbeaten today. I have been watching everything on AFTV today but nobody dared to critisize Emery. He was just wrong today. He costed us this game today.

Have to give Southampton some credit. They exploited our patchwork defence while parking a bus in front of their area. If it was one defender coming back from injury we might have coped but two plus Lichtsteiner out of position (2nd half) and loosing Bellerin early was asking too much. Iwobi was poor. I doubt he'll get in the first team after the January window.

These guys have no common sense. If the defend had done their job everyone in the attack would have suddenly became a bloodbluhbluh. Leno had to risk everything running forward because he had lost faith in the defenders. We can't keep outscoring opponents. We need to spend everything we have on a worldclass defender
