A good look at the Swan 49, X boat XC 47, Saffier dayboats and the new Baycruiser 21 from Swallow Yachts.

As a 'Dutchie': thanks for highlighting the Saffier! 100% product. Around 2000, the builder sailed his first boat, the 6.5m from IJmuiden to Lowestoft when it was 5 Beaufort on the sea. That open(!) boat performed flawlessly. Nowadays, Saffiers are sought-after here and even the older models are still expensive in today's market. The boom furling mainsail is a new one for me (it's an old principle, yes) And I can see the advantages. Only advantages, tbh. Thanks for showing that!

I absolutely love the Saffier. If I were just day sailing and racing, I’d have one in a heartbeat.

I rreally wanted to go this year, but time has been very rare so this is the next best thing!! I reckon the cushions on some of those boats are more money tghan my whole boat but nice to dream for a while!! I too have my sights set on a Bayraider. I love the current Bay Cruiser 20 which has a bigger cabin and smaller cockpit, perfect for the solo sailer. But they are still a little dear!!! I cannot understand why you would buy a boat like the Swan and not have a Nav table in it? The Saffires are just amazing. Like the James boond of the Dinghy world!! How much are they though...they look V. expensive!!

Price of a Saffier? Think of the equivalent new Swallow yacht bay cruiser, double the number then add VAT. They are lovely though.
