You guys are my favorite “sailing channel.” Great video - BZ

THE BEST sailing channel by far!! Not too much talk over and just the sound of the wind and the water past the hull is magic . Huge thanks from Australia 👍😊

9:08 that is a great shot with rain on the deck while a sailboat is in the distance.

I have to be honest, your channel is the only one I see of all the ones out there splashing waters. What I really like is the simple narration and the description and display of what really interests me. Wow, it is of very good quality and simplicity. I CONGRATULATE YOU and encourage you to continue along those lines. A hug. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Magnificent! Beautiful boat and crew but it is your editing, shooting angles, and music that make it so good. Certainly a video that shows what cruising used to be like. A wooden boat, a rowing (and sail) dinghy, filling water jugs ashore and so on. Everyone else has a plastic boat, a fast inflatable with outboard motor, fresh water maker, radar, chart plotters and autopilot, and even air conditioning. It's a different world now, better in some ways but also something is lost. Few even know common sailing terms and show no interest in learning. They have kitchens, bathrooms, upstairs and downstairs, floors and roofs. But they are sailing so that's good. Thanks for making such wonderful videos and reminding me of my cruising years, 50 years ago...

We absolutely love your videos! Of course we are biased for a number of reasons...we, too, are Ingrid sailors and because we were on your boat long before she became the "Julia"! In fact, it wasn't until we bumped into to Brian in the chandlery did we realize that your boat, and the wonderful storytelling that we had been watching since the beginning of your voyage, was the boat that we were on at his yard...the boat that was to become the "Julia". So, on that note, thank you again for producing such wonderful videos that are reminiscent of the travelogues from another era.

Nice video, I have sailed there as participants in a race, a few decades ago, the marina has expanded dramatically from my time there as per your video. Before we sailed back to Australia we anchored at Amedee lighthouse for our last cup of coffee before leaving for home, I wonder if the cafeteria is still there? Now I'm in Pittwater enjoying my time there through your video. Many Thanks SV Skoiern IV

Your videos are always pleasant and mature. I'm just so amazed at your skills in building everything you built right down to the self propelled dinghy. It's so perfectly analog, if that's appropriate to put it that way. Do you come from a boat building family/history?
@richardblair9193 ай бұрын
My dad was on a destroyer in WWII. A lot of naval records were lost in a fire - I know they were in the South Pacific, and I know some of the island names. I wonder if the seas you are experiencing were seen by my dad also. Take care always.

Lovely video, lovely crew, lovely boat. Today I doubted my earlier classification of Julia as a ketch but paying more attention stuck to that. Do you use the mizzen a lot? While having seen all your videos, I don't remember.
@MadisonBoatworks3 ай бұрын
Yes we use the mizzen constantly. It goes up and down depending on the wind and helm balance.

Just found your channel and so glad I did. We restored a 1938 fifty foot Monk cruiser in Seattle some years ago and are well familiar with the challenges involved in making the old girls work as they should in their second lives. I think I knew your Ingrid in the days before you had her. Is it possible that she was previously owned by Sue and Tim Regan (Tim the “corker”)? Regardless, I am delighted to see you are still posting relatively recent videos and that she is holding up under hard use so well. Fantastic stuff! Subscribed.
