@@GhazyRozano He is not "old", seems to be in his 50s or maybe even late 40s. He has not the typical abundant white hair of a man over 60, which is what you could actually call old. He is a veteran for sure, but still not "old" sensu stricto.

@@invertco1955 Really, China has freedom when you get rich enough to be an asset to their economy. And you can only do that by selling out in some way. When you don't, you either leave China or stay to be an underappreciated "lower class" worker. Most countries are like this really.

This is a problem rife in many countries. I know many nurses who are forced to work unpaid overtime in the UK because they are guilted into staying because they care about their patients. I know this is not just a China problem, nor just a healthcare problem

My sister works as a nurse. She once shared to me how much she concerned more about the doctors' conditions than the patients sometimes. They told the patients to eat regularly but they skipped their lunch, had no break time, and they had bleeding nose while working. I pray for all of the doctors who are caring like that to stay healthy and get lots of blessings. ❤️

it saddened me seeing him collapse like that.. if there were someone nearby, perhaps then he wouldn’t have fallen that terribly, hitting the ground and eventually injuring himself. honestly, i respect doctors that overwork for the patients and are extremely dedicated to their work but we tend to forget that they’re human too. his exhaustion really took a toll on him, and not to mention working in that state may impact his patients too.. his colleagues should’ve stopped him from overworking ngl. i’m sure they must’ve tried to, but sometimes you got to be forceful to help the individual out of the loop of work and insist them to take rest. i was going to say “i hope he’s doing well now!” but after reading various comments saying he passed away in 2021 due to covid makes me truly sad. dear doctor, the hero and savior of millions of people’s lives, thank you and i hope you rest in peace.

Or it shows that doctors are overworked and they are seeing too many patients. The healthcare system is wack. For a yearly checkup you wait an hr for the doctor and only get 10-15 min on checkup. Edit: and also for the waiting room is worse. You get injured go to the hospital. Maybe they wanna get a sample of the thing that's abnormal takes more than an hr to come back. Then you got to wait hours just for a doctor to come see you.

Workaholism is an addiction, an obsessive-compulsive disorder, and it's not the same as an intelligent human working hard. Workaholic's obsession with work is all-occupying, which prevents workaholics from maintaining healthy relationships, outside interests, or even take measures to protect their (as well as their own families) health. What we see here is the ANTITHESIS of health/being responsible/doctor like. The likely hood he's just an "amazingly selfless human" is far too slim for me to like this video or support his actions as if positive or respectable. He is most likely sick/suffering a mental illness that our species will never attempt to remedy for proposes of economic gains. I watched another video from this channel this mourning that tried to put forced fake emotion in a positive light..."choke back your emotion and act more like a robot"...or suffer ridicule/financial loss. I see this as propaganda at it's finest...and most damaging. SHAME ON South China Morning Post for pushing inhumane sentiment as something positive.

@@MargaritaMagdalena yes, and that's the truth, because doctors are literally saving lives. If there are no doctors, then we will go into extinction soon. All humans are special and are important, but there is no denying that doctors are even more important since they are saving many important lives. And they are selfless, even studying to become a doctor is so tiresome. They deserve way more respect

exactly. People in the medical field that overwork themselves literally cause mistakes which cause death. There is nothing endearing about this. All I see is a lawsuit waiting to happen. He needs to rest himself so that he can get his best for other people. Human brain does not function even close to normally at this stage of exhaustion.
