I don't think South Carolina has been favored in a single game this year except against Old Dominion in the season opener. On one hand, you look at the schedule and you understand why. On the other hand you look at what they did to Oklahoma and Kentucky on the road (both of whom were favored) and the level of disrespect this year for the STILL unranked Gamecocks has been monumental.

@@Andrew-md6gh Auburn is about the closest, but the DL and Edges aren't quite as good, and I would say our LBs and CBs are a tough better sa well. Should be a fun one, especially if the defense plays like it did against TAMU

If Vandy & Diego Pavia can handle that S Carolina defensive front, they will have earned my total respect. But Carolina seems to be a team who's trending upwards fast. I think they take this one convincingly. Their only potential trap will be if they're still celebrating last week's win over A&M.

I believe the edge for SC comes from being able to get vandy into long 3rd downs throughout the game preventing them from taking the absusive possesion time they have had. I'll call turnovers even. Vandy has got some smart play, and ways to prevent ends from demolishing. I also think SC has improved on ball security assuming we arent playing 2 scores down. Sc has been great overall on stopping versatile QBs but gives up big plays, which is not a vandy strong point. You mentioned vandy being great on special teams, i think we'll see both sides challenge that ;). I can't head to Nashville this year but i have the past 3 times we've headed there and i absolutely love that place. Glad vandy is getting their shine! Just as I'm glad we are! I have a feeling this game will attract a LOT of views this week

Two interesting points when vandy has the ball and the offense they run. Vanderbilt cant block the ends most likely, but since they option the ends with the offense they dont have to block them all the time. Freshman edge has to play disciplined. However, sc has two senior lb and that would be a strenght given the misdirection vandy likes to run. Discipline will be key and interesting to watch. If the defense stops vandys offense then its a comfortable win for sc. If not, then its likely not a good matchup as vandy has played some solid defense this year. I like sc but its been a wierd year so who knows

We have a Tonka Truck in the middle... they wont be able to run on us except maybe a couple big ones.. Pavia is going to have large grass stain on his back. This analysis sounds a lot like what everyone was saying last week about A&M except they were picking A&M. I dont think it will be close at all. We took care of Kentucky and Oklahoma on the road and almost took care of Bama. If you noticed Saturday night the Gamecocks were really practicing ball security vs the earlier games. My favorite play was when Sellers was running for the first down and that poor DB got in his way.

@curlyqv2467 agreed. However vandy runs a different style of offense. The option type offenses often don't block the ends of the line of scrimmage at all. They read them. That's my point. Counterpoint, is that Stewart is a problem. He is a freakish athlete and has the ability, at times, to use that to play both qb and pitch. If he plays with eye discipline I think vandy is in trouble. Have to wait and see

USC has already been tested on the road but life is never easy in the SEC especially on the road and Vandy is much improved and solid team! If USC wins it would be another solid top 25 win! Do not overlook them and have an injury free clean game. Let’s go Gamecocks

S.C. has proven they are unable to play great consistently. That’s why they are not ranked and I agree. Once they start winning multiple games in a row and play like they did against TA&M all the time myself and the rest of the country will have more faith in them. As of now Shane Beamer has proven to be inconsistent he will have his team unprepared one week and they get blown out by a team that isn’t that good then the next week SC will beat the crap out of a highly ranked team. It’s pretty sad that a team that recruits in the top 25 every year is only a three point favorite against Vandy. If we go based on talent I would say S.C. beats Vandy 48 to 3. However since we know that Shane will not have his team ready to play this game because they typically don’t win more than two games in a row Vandy will win 28 to 24.
