Everyone keeps saying Tennessee’s secondary is weak based on how they looked the last three years. They got two excellent starters out of the portal and are playing two freshmen who are lighting it up this year. The secondary is completely different from the last few years and is playing great.

UT sack rate is low because every opposing offensive game plan is to get the ball out fast. Fewer opportunities for sacks, and also why there have been few explosive plays against them as well

Tennessee likely will struggle again on offense in the 1st half and score enough to win in the 2nd half. I'm thinking Tennessee 28 Mississippi State 17

I still don't think Tennessee is as good as their ranking. Nico just isn't the 2nd coming of Hendon Hooker that Vols nation expected. But they clearly win this one at home convincingly.

Nobody should have expected that a RS Freshman is going to play well as a 6th year senior... A 6th year senior who has arguably the best season of any Vol QB in Tennessee history. That is an expectation problem, not a Nico problem. Let's see Nico in his 6th year and see who yes a better year and then we can evaluate

Nico is gonna be GREAT! Mark my words. It's wild people talking so much shit about him. Comparing him to Hooker when Nico is a freaking redshirt freshman. Hooker had a great year in 2022 but he was what...a 6th year senior? Of course he was better then because he had tons more experience. Yep Nico has had some overthrows but he's had just as many balls that he put right in the hands of receivers that they dropped....many of which would have been plays where they likely would've walked right into the end zone. Would have been HUGE plays. TN is so close man. They're a nut hair away from making these tight wins blowout wins. Nico is gonna be just fine.

@@terrancepemberton4648 agreed 100%. I say this as a UT fan, but we have arguably the most over-critical and over-expectant fanbase in the country. I saw ppl actually suggesting that we fire Heupel after the Ark loss...as if there's just great HCs waiting out in the ether currently unemployed. It's insane, absolutely insane. The same should be said for anyone saying to bench Nico or that he was a flop or even the ones saying he wasn't playing to expectation. I don't care if he got paid $40M, you don't just walk out in college and dominate as an 19-yr old... You don't.
