We take a walk through the popular seaside town of Southend On Sea in Essex to see what's happening ahead of the resort opening up for a big summer.

A seafront amusement park, sand and shingle beaches, and fish 'n' chips shops leading down to the country's longest pier; Essex's Southend-on-Sea has all the trappings of a classic British seaside resort, as well as a gritty city centre complete with shops and packed nightclubs.
Enjoy traditional seaside fun in the shape of award-winning beaches and family attractions from the world famous Pier and its mile long railway, Adventure Island fun park with its range of rides and rollercoasters, Sealife Adventure plus of course all the amusement arcades and the popular fountains on City Beach.
Southend-on-Sea is a resort town on the Thames Estuary in Essex, southeast England. The long Southend Pier is serviced by a small train and has a museum at its shore end. Nearby, Adventure Island is an amusement park with fairground rides and water slides. The Cliff Lift, a century-old funicular, clings to the hillside and offers coastal views. Sea Life Adventure aquarium is home to otters, clownfish and turtles.

Amazed how steady the filming is as you are walking. I live here but have been away a few months, it’s interesting to see how the construction of those new seafront flats have progressed and that there is now a Costa at the Pier 😄 I love the eerie mistiness of this video. Thank you.

Been to S-o-S many many times - been in that Sea World place, they had Pirahnas in there in a big tank ! and so so lovely little tiny sea horses ! Been in the Kursal too - they used to have a Wall of Death in there (motorcycles spinning round and up the wall - it was very exciting!!) There is a road a few streets behind the front called Electric Avenue - keep em coming Mr Walk 😀🙂🤩💯✔

@@GimbalWalkTV No they didn't feed them - apparently they eat there own, was about 300 in the tank but later only about 150 (was a long time ago so not sure of the numbers!) The tank was raised up about 4ft off floor so no-one could put hands in, or fall in ❗

I’m originally from London and been going to Southend since a kid, yes it’s changed, but so has many other places, that’s life….., as for the crime……, London is way worse, I’ve been living near Southend for years now, and no way would I move back to London 😊

@@delphjunction1168 yep I know u was just making a statement, and that’s the beauty of messages, ya can’t ‘hear’ the way sumin is being spoken 😊 As for car crime, yeah, from what I’ve gathered it comes and goes, and tbh where I actually live, not too far from Southend, there’s nice cars, yet if u look at the area, u wouldn’t think it….., cos parts of it looks like it could be a crime hotspot
