Southern 4501: Queen of The Missionary Ridge (June 2020)

It's been a while since we've seen a steam locomotive, so to kick it back off lets go back down to Christians favorite Railroad museum to see his favorite Mikado the Southern 4501!

2020 was not the year any of us thought it was. And honestly after Covid-19 struck I regretted not going to any of the photocharters, or Railroad re-openings in February. But when the date got closer for Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum's reopening Christian thought about it and decided to go. But seeing how they wouldn't be running the Typical 5 Trains Christian decided to go two Saturdays, driving an insane distance to spend 12 hours in Tennessee both times to see the 4501. From typical Angles track side to those rarely shot angles enjoy our favorite video we have shot so far this decade! With 4501 in the lead it was a great two Saturdays chasing. Also, we did buy a Ticket to ride to get on Property. As if you don't have a Ticket, Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum is asking you don't go on property due to the Pandemic. They seemed to be really handling the situation well at the museum and very Professionally.
While i did not see my good friend The ‘Nooga Railfan, he did help me come up with a video title and inspired some of my shots. So in that end I am linking his video here. Enjoy his as well!

While things were reopening in June, and things were seemly getting back to Normal as Covid-19 Surges in 9 states PLEASE practice social distancing, please wear a mask, and please remember this isn't over! We would like to safely try and see a few other Steam Locomotives this summer, but with States already issuing Travel advisories and mandatory quarantines with travel to other states. We like the rest of you want to see more steam this year! Don't screw this up. We've got a few more plans this summer, and will see what happens. Our state is getting pretty bad in terms of how things are being handled. I feel bad for both GSMR and Tweetsie as well.

Perhaps my question got lost in translation. It doesn't matter, all I know is I am heading to Chattanooga for the September 5 Chickamauga Turn trip and am looking forward to it as I have not been to Chattanooga since the October 2018 doubleheader to Summerville.

4501 is a pretty neat locomotive! I’m glad you got to ride behind it. The only thing that I don’t like is the way that 4501’s whistle is rotated. After 4501 was returned to its normal livery after it was dressed as L&N 1593, the whistle was rotated to where the chimes were faced in a different direction. Personally, I’m fine with the way it is right now, but I’d prefer the regular sound it had before. Oh well, it is what it is. I’m just glad that 4501 is running again.
