Was attending a small college in Martin Tn. in spring of 1978. Maybe April or May, a buddy of mine who was a fan told me Henry was going to play a small club in Jackson, about 50 miles away. I think the name of the place was the Apple. It was on Airways just west of 45. Once inside the packed club , we managed to find a couple of seats at a table with some strangers. As soon as the opening band started playing, joints were lit up at the tables. We ordered several pitchers of draft beer and had a good time with people we had never seen and would never see again. From what I can remember, Henry played a good set and we enjoyed the music. Somehow we staggered out of there in the early morning hours and drove back to school.

My friends and family, from Memphis and Kentucky saw the same concert. Clubs name was The Red Apple and their AC didn't work. Met him afterwards at a place that was similar to Shoney's and got his autograph. He had a good laugh when I told him my name because it was used in one of his songs on his first album. The cover was bright yellow.

Saw him do this live at University of South Carolina in Columbia in '77 or '78, opening for Foghat. Awesome show!

Rocking tune. Loved the entire album although more mellow.

I heard this song for the first time today. I looked him up and he was noted for the song "Shannon" which, according to Wikipedia, is a song about a dog that died and belonged to one of the Beach Boys. Anyway, this song rocks! Thanks for posting Classic Rock.

I always thought he was Mick Ralphs tasty on guitar, but these songs would have been better served by a Paul Rodgers type voice thanhis ShaNaNa backing vocalist tone. .02. I say this because I'm m always about best serving the song. I bought the album when it came out. I have the cd's too. Derek from Nugent woulda killed on these songs, too.

My favorite song is Evergreen. I must be the only one who'd like it played on you tube.

I remember using a fake ID to get into a club in Memphis in 1974 to see him. What ever happened to him? My favorite song by him is “Overton Square”

We loved this, me and my crew in High School in the 70's. Sure was disappointed when we got the LP and the rest of it was limp wrist ed soft crap as we called it then. Haven't heard this in awhile. Still has some kick.
