I agree with you 100% about Kanye. I've always been a background fan, and I was truly happy to see his transformation. You're right, he is a young Christian but he is now using his platform for God's glory and God is meeting him where he is everyday and growing him just like he does for me everyday. The next person on my heart is Taylor Swift, especially after watching her documentary recently. The whole time I was praying, as she was saying "what's after this, there's got to be more than this.." I was on the edge of my seat hoping she would confess with her mouth that Jesus is Lord. I pray that believers cross her path and that she can understand and experience God's approval for her and not struggle for people's approval anymore (her words). But if not, He is still Good

Loved the way you described baptism. I got baptized long after I became a Christian & you described it perfectly. Baptism is not salvation, but SUCH a beautiful symbol of it. 😊

I was baptised in the Catholic religion as a baby. I believe baptism is a choice you need to make not someone else making that decision for you. Your a new creation.

Correct. Perhaps that was unclear. My implication in saying it is both a symbol AND a transformative event is that the individual undergoing the event and taking on the symbol has made an initial choice to accept and follow Jesus according to Romans 10:9-10. The Catholics in my family and my friends who are Catholic do both of the things mentioned in Romans 10:9-10 (the requirements for salvation) AND are actively serving the Lord as adults even though most of them did not choose baptism as adults. I believe baptism comes AFTER salvation, but because baptism is NOT equivalent to salvation I view it as something I can agree to disagree about with my beloved Catholic family in Christ. As a Southern Baptist, I only agree with about 75-85% of what my church teaches as doctrine. I agree with about the same with my non-denominational brothers and sisters in Christ. But I want to love and cherish them all and grow in our faith together here on KZbin. It doesn’t mean if they ask me about an issue I stray from God’s answer to that issue in His written Word. I am so happy you mentioned denominations. I am a non denominational Christian. My husband is a devout Catholic. We don’t agree on a lot but we do agree there is a God and Jesus Christ lived among us.

I have a lot of family and some friends I have met through my KZbin channel who are devout Catholics. Also, my favorite professor in college when I studied Theology was a Spirit-filled Catholic. Hi Anna, I'm new here. I loved listening to this. You have some great insight. The only thing I wanted to mention is that, if you don't know a lot about the Catholic church. You may want to learn a bit. Yes they have a lot of similarities to Protestantism. Some don't matter that much. But, there are several very concerning differences that I worry could have lasting consequences for many. We are explicitly told not to do so many things the Church teaches. I am not here to cause any trouble. I am a true believer that has true concern for others. I am not in judgement of anyone here. I am a sinner and do things Christian's shouldn't be doing at times. I am in need of God's forgiveness and grace! I'm just very leery when eaching isn't docrinally sound. Peace~

@@AnnaWillemstein Thanks for your thoughtful reply. I truly worry with the worship of Mary and the Saints. The belief in the Pope and Priests who are called Father, etc. that can actually be a problem. I don't think our beautiful Lord looks favorably at people praying to these instead of going directly through Him. The ONLY way to the Father is through Jesus! Also a side note, I went to a Catholic church with someone and was told not to participate in Communion unless I was a Catholic. Not a Christian but a Catholic! Scary stuff. There is so much more. I am not saying there aren't Catholic Christian's but it saddens me that they have added on to the Bible the Catechism. We are explicitly told not to add or subtract from God's words. I know I'm not explaining things well here, I'm in a hurry. But these are a few things we should consider. We are called to love everyone but also call each other out when necessary. In love~
