I remember last time I traveled from Mombasa to Kisumu and we didn't pass via CBD. My gut instinct and the uniqueness of the road just told me it was the new Southern Bypass, as seen on Skyscrapercity😁

Does Kenya enforce on truck weight? Otherwise all the nice highways will crumble if trucks will keep on overloading like if you drive towards limuru from westlands you will find the far left lanes have sunken into some tiny gulleys. Also they should enforce trucks to strictly keep left unless overtaking, exiting or yielding to cars entering the highway. Also when they plan to build highways they should acquire enough space such that in the future there needs to be additional lanes they won't have to disrupt businesses, residents or buying land which gets expensive with time. I feel this road will cause more people to move there and then traffic jam becomes the norm.
@AfrikanTraveller4 жыл бұрын
Yes we have several weight bridges to monitor the weight... Also 4axle trailers were banned in the country because of the same thing.

Google map will help a lot, though you can take the turn at Wanginge use the western By pass till Kikuyu, where you will be joining the southernbypass. Connect to Mombasa road at Olesereni

Guys saying " you should always keep left while overtaking bla bla" we are many often than not forced to go the other way, because the guy in front won't give way by leaving right lane, especially them trucks. Be cool on my nigga here, I use this road daily and only a small fraction give way, personally I drive on the left lane since I do around 90kph.
