LOVE THE RANT!! TY for all you do. I remember the Barracuda and Sand bass days very well. We'd catch Legal Barry's off the Breakwall on Crocodiles. My question is, can we change the requirements for the people who make these rules? YOU, IMHO, should be such an "approved consultant" on local fishing, BEFORE they enact these laws. They need to "have to" consult with the people who are out there every day. The people who KNOW what, where, how, why and when. I tend to get over-involved in things. I'm willing to contribute some time of my own. Cheers!!

In a perfect world they would consult us. In California they base their decisions on feelings instead of science.

I heard legends from the older fishermen that a long time ago, there was giant squid that ate all the Sand Bass. But it's terrible, guys like me spend money to go on a sport boat, and every year the fishing regulations get more strict.

IMO sand bass have been present in larger numbers and larger spawning groups in the past 2 years. Maybe they just need an actual waterman help them find them. 🤔

Would be nice to have these people who make the rules actually come out and go fishing with us before they start making up rules with no actually knowledge of whats going on! At least learn how to fish and bump some elbows with the anglers before you make some off set rules ever!!! Don't destroy something so nice for so many people with out any proper knowledge to whats going on or whats fishing like and its cycles..

That's not going to help. Lots of people that fish are democrats and don't support this. What does help is contact your reps and let them know why it's a bad idea and not supported by any evidence.

The reason why the Sand Bass for no longer there and the places that we used to fish in back 60s 70s 80s and 90s is it shut down the power plants shut down the power plants on the West Coast El Segundo Redondo Huntington Beach synonym for a San onofre unlimited the ships going in to Rosarito Beach now they've been putting ships in at these different locations to offload crude oil to run the power plants to run the Edison plants for electricity for the American people on the West Coast they were dumping their ballast tanks coming from foreign countries would crude oil loaded from Saudi Arabia the Middle East Russia China Malaysia and they were changing balanced tanks offloading the water that they had from different parts of the different oceans are salt Serenity to help disrupt the Eco environment in the Santa Monica Bay up and down the West Coast like Morro Bay it's called the tankers coming to the offload cargo and load cargo help contaminate the west coast of California that's why the fishing is not like it used to be contamination of bringing water from the Caribbean for the Mediterranean the Red Sea Middle East Morocco Africa Central America the water level the salt salinity is different a water got contaminated
