Wynter - I think it's so wonderful that you were making southern fried apples at age 11. My mom taught me to cook so young that I don't remember when we first started. We had such a good time together. Amazon says your review was posted 3 years ago so you must be around 14 years old now. Are you still cooking fried apples?

OMG OMG!!!!! I just tried this and it was soooooooo freaking good. I didn't have a Granny Smith apple or lemon juice, so I just improvised with a Red Delicious apple and apple juice. OMG!! That things was so delicious. I'm not a big time chef so I was pretty glad that it didn't take long to make and the steps were super easy. I ate it with some ice cream and it just blew my mind. You guys have to try this!!!!

That's the same way my Mamaw in Kentucky and my Mom in Ohio made fried apples and the it's the same way I've been doing it for over 50 years! It's so good to see these old recipes being passed to young people. For an extra treat I often add a handful of raisins to the apples while they're cooking and also a handful of chopped black walnuts at the end.

My mom used to make fried applies and serve them for breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage, and biscuits. They were so good, and this brought back so many nice memories!

Thank You Divas Can Cook. This morning I tried this recipe with regular red apples because that's what I was working with in the fridge. I followed Divas can Cook instructions. Caramelized apples that was the bomb on top of my oatmeal Yas. The apples itself shrinks but other than that very sugary because I didn't know how much sugar to put in the apples but i enjoyed myself and i will be doing this more often.
