The Western Canadian accent and the American Southern accent is such a trip to see together. I had that experience when I went down to Florida 10 years back. Our accent is so normalized to us that we don’t even think about it. But you head somewhere like The South and you realize how different and distinct you sound.

The last time I was in Orlando (about 15 years ago) my Southern accent was the novelty there. Everyone I met was a Northern transplant or migrated up from Cuba. It was so funny that folks in Florida were enjoying this Carolina girl's Southern accent.

I also watch these videos while I am waking up to start my day. Mr. Ovens videos are far less produced than a lot of others, really upping the IRL factor. Super important being able to distinguish how genuine Mr. Ovens is compared to others. The calm and peace that he translates is one of the most valuable characteristics I seek in a view. Thank you.

Great video Greg ! Looks likes a Great time. Boiling food cooks the flavor out of it. Try giving them ribs a good sear all over, then double wrap them in foil. add a bout a quarter cup of water, beef broth, or barbecue sauce to the foil packet and let it slow cook on a lower heat for about 2 hours. I put my coals to one side of the grill, and start one side of it. I place my seasoned baby back ribs on other side of the grill, meat side up, and cook for 2 hours. At that time I take them off the grill and double wrap them in foil with about a half cup of pine apple juice, and place them back on the grill, meat side down, for another 2 hours. the ribs come off the grill fallin off the bone, melt in your mouth, tasty. Just like cooking a roast in the oven. Give it a good sear to caramelize the sugars in the fat. Then cook it in moisture to make it tender. Salt & pepper is all you need on beef, the fat will add tremendous flavor. Thank You for sharing your video, and bringing us along.

I really like the part in this video that Tim attained success with his first bow drill fire. It was a triumphant moment. Adult learning is so rewarding because the last time most people were taught something was when they were in their teens or twenties. They are eager to learn because they choose to be in that environment as opposed to being in the school setting when they were a kid. It’s very rewarding for the Teacher as well wether it’s a classroom setting, a hands on trade, or a workplace training workshop. It’s just as rewarding for Greg to share his survival knowledge with us because his classroom is the entire wilderness and it’s vast beauty. Thank-you for the lovely video Greg. ☺️😊🥰

Thank you for rooting me on!! Honestly, the bow drill was a tremendous challenge, but when you have a coach that won't give up on ya and is as determined to see you succeed as you are to succeed...how can you not have success? For real, Greg is the best instructor/coach we all have to learn from. His channel is a Blessing to all that desire to be mentored by a real life mountain man/ bushcrafter. By God's divine guidance, he brought Greg into our lives through his videos. I was one privileged fellow to have Greg there instructing me, coaching me along the way, helping me, filling the atmosphere with encouraging words of hope and success. That time with Greg and the challenge of the bow drill, i will never forget or take for granted!!!! My success is his success. Hats off to Greg!!
