❤❤❤❤❤ my mom used pie pans to flour, egg wash then coat in bread crumbs. I do the same. Throw them out if they're disposable, or throw them in the dishwasher to re-use.

I miss my grandma , she was from Arkansas and man did she used to cook good dinners and bake pies n cobblers …. She even had a vegetable garden in the front n back yard of her house … whenever I see food being cooked I haven’t had in years always bring back grandmas house 😞😞

Instead of throwing away the beef flavored oil, I would have added flour to the oil and made a roux. And added mushrooms. Very nice.

That dish is something my grandma used to fix. She was from born and raised in Missouri then got married and moved to Chicago. She used to cook us a lot of her depression era and WWII favorites and it was great comfort food. It was all simple yet elegant. I’m subscribed now so I don’t miss anything. Keep ‘em coming!

First time seeing your channel. It definitely won't be the last! Now I have square cast iron pan envy. 😆 The first time I had this was in the deep rural south. It was served with white rice, pinto beans, collards and fresh baked biscuits. I thought I'd died and gone to heaven.

This is how I make mine but I usually fry my flour in whatever grease is left over from browning the steaks. Add water to make the gravy. Thanks for reminding me of this recipe I’ll be making this tonight with some cream corn, garlic mashed potatoes and cornbread!

Love your iron pan and the steak looks great. Just a hint when adding liquid and always broth in this case beef stock or broth, it really deepens the flavors.

This is my favorite dish. one suggestion. To get it browner. Saute the onion a little bit longer. You'll also get more flavor. Sometimes I even start with half the onion. Saute it down quite a bit. Then I'll add the other half in later. Instead of flour for the thickness. Use cornstarch.

This is similar to a dish my mother taught me to make. We call it braised steak in Wales. We serve it with mashed potatoes, onion gravy, carrots and beans. Going to try your recipe next time I make it 🙂

I’ve never cooked cubed steak but we found your recipe and cooked some deer meat cubed steak and it turned out phenomenal. Only difference i did was after i seared steaks the first time and moved them to a plate, I left the oil in the pan, added some butter then the onions and let them sear for a minute before adding the water/flower mix. Cooked some brown rice, mash potatoes and some corn bread. Mouth watering

Now is called Gravy Master you can still buy it at the store sometimes what are you so I mix it and the flower water you can do it either way cast iron pots they make it round a little more at the bottom I can't wait I'm going to go buy me a set of cast iron pots to cook everything good especially Fried Chicken

When I was growing up there was no such thing as beef broth used in gravy. I don't know if it was even sold in stores. My mother used water, flour and the grease drippings.
