Thank you for going to all these fly ins and recording/posting them. As close as I can get to attending and fun to watch feeling like I’m there with everyone 👍🏻

Wow, what a big difference day 2 was compared to day 1. I'm guessing the wind was a tad better.

Not really, just the unfortunate ones wrecked their stuff, so the next day we’re the ones that survived. Haha. It was very difficult

What a show. Wish I would’ve stayed. 16:30 “what the heck was that?” 😂

These toe drag take-offs make my butt pucker. So close to losing some heels on so many. Looks like a challenging site... I still maintain the notion that trike is more dangerous and prone to damages than foot launch.

So what did I learn here? 1) Run, then run more and run faster 2) Whatever input you think you need to make...make 1/2 that much, at half of the application rate you might make at sea level 3) Ripman has dodged numerous offers to fly on loaner gear. I've been forwarded a few video clips of him hiding in a porte-potty and a tornado shelter, dressed in desert camouflage, feigning a tummy ache and pretending to be a spectator, to avoid attempting to try a take off at this density altitude.

Haha come on. Hey don't you mean give more, I'd give it all the brakes possible without stalling after you run run run, my 110 kg all up Top 80 125cm technique at ~2,000 ft DA. Got to build speed and pop the brakes and then ground hover as you get up to full speed.

@@iKenFlyPPG NO!!! I don't. Thin air requires more forward (ground speed) and much lower control deflections. Yeah the brake "pop" will maybe get you in the air, but too much will inhibit your acceleration and may put you on the "back side of the power curve" close to a stall.

That butt landing at 16:30 😂 It actually looks like that was completely intentional.

Looks like there is a strong market for a school to teach high altitude take offs!!

drop-out rate would be pretty high. I know Im not fit enough to run 100 yards with a ppg on my back. Weekend warrior with no illusions, here...

@@shanesplanetshane3795 It really depends on your technique and form. You clearly see a lot of people take off way less than 100 yards lol

I flew with brad in southern utah, and technique matters the most, he gave me awesome instruction, flew moster 185 there and i weigh 260lbs no issues, 130cm prop full tank of gas. I can take off fully loaded 28m roadster at sea level feels easy.

Probably not a good time to be paragliding... The place looks like something out of the middle east... Just saying...
