Great vid, man. One really effective method I use to protect my bottles is to put them in socks. Get some long tube socks and double them over so you have two layers of protection. Then you can just stack what you find in your backpack. The empty socks take up almost no room so you can take a ton with you down the creek.
@adventurearchaeology3 жыл бұрын
I’ve done the sock trick too haha! My wife would save all the lost sock mates for me!

You have no idea how much I enjoy watching your vid‘s. They help me escape from the most honorable and terrible responsibility of my life. I am the sole caretaker for my wonderful 86-year-old mother 24 - 7 -365 Who has been taken away by the terrible monster that is dementia ! My daughter has a family and a full plate & we lost Dad a few years back - so it’s just me , a guy who loves to collect old bottles 😀 Your videos help me forget that I am trapped for now and they give me a little sense of what my life might be like in the future when I’m able to have a life of my own. When I was your age people were always saying to me Chris you’re such a lucky man. When I see you out with your wonderful family and friends I understand what those peeps meant 30 years ago Brandon - keep them coming You’ve no idea how they help people on many different levels God Bless you & yours

So sorry to hear about your mother! Your a good man for taking care of her! We will definitely keep you in our prayers!
@constancegreiner9063 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing your story. I too was a caretaker. I enjoyed it very much. I felt I was doing what God wanted me to do. However my health isn't so good. Chronic fatigue and pain. Now my friend has passed I'm feel I should of made more time to do my interest when I was younger and healthier. Please make an effort to find a fill in. Also I didn't get paid although there are govt programs to pay caregivers. Please check into it and be sure you are getting what you deserve. If you weren't there for your mom the govt would be spending a fortune for a healthcare facility. Now I have more free time I don't have money to do things. I willing gave up trips to the islands and across the country to care for my friend. Those opportunities don't happen everyday. God Bless you and your mom. Prayers sent your way.

@@constancegreiner906 Thank you for taking the time to reach out with your kind words - they truly helped Dad left Mom with a very nice house & plenty of money to live - his dying words were to keep her in their house for as long as possible. Cool pack! You can literally put that modular foam in any pack though. I use bubble wrap drinking glass packers. Basically bubble wrap tubes for packing away china and silverware. Super light. Toss them in the pack, put each bottle in it's own wrapper as needed and pack the non used wrappers between bottles as extra protection. They key is to pack the bottles tight so they don't move at all. One layer facing up, the next layer facing down so the top spouts sit down inside the bottom spouts, wrapped in bubble wrap. This forms a solid block of glass so to speak. Or you can just buy this modular foam. I already had the wrappers so I never bothered.

Bro, if you want some badass grabbers check out gentle giants made by midwest usa. The specialize in snake catching tongs. I do not catch snakes but my company uses them to grab stuff in the textile industry. They have tons of sizes also and they are aluminum so they wont rust. I think they would work perfect for what you do.
