Deidre, I oversee our church “little food pantry”. I also watch these videos to see what to stock. Ours is not refrigerated, so my choices are limited. The bags of cheese are popular! Also, pepperoni and meat sticks.

@@db4082 I work for a large non profit in ohio that has a perishable food pantry and community gardens. We will be partnering with a large food bank and getting items to stock the pantry through the USDA from that food bank. My comment was mainly about having recipe ideas that Brooke supplies so nicely that I can use in the boxes of food items we distribute so people have ideas of what to do with the food they receive. Because some times you may get things that you don't know how to cook or don't know what to put with it.

Brooke, you are amazing! These ideas are going to help me SO much this month because EVERYTHING is due - car insurance, car tags & a surprise medical bill. After bills are paid & I fuel my car up, I will have about $60 leftover to buy groceries. Thank you for showing us that feeding our family IS possible on an extremely low budget! I will definitely be using your ideas to keep my crew’s tummy’s full and have the food be delicious. ❤

Just an FYI, the McCormick's fajita seasoning packet is $1.66 at WM. I like making those grilled cheese roll ups except my husband ends up eating about 3 times more food! Somehow 2 grilled cheeses fill him up but it takes 562 of the roll ups for some reason! The best thing about cooking is that you rarely will ever screw anything up beyond eatability! (made up word) so experiment! Have fun! Brooke, you should make a short of that raspberry/cheese sandwich!

You have to be careful with their can goods. Buy only one or two and open and eat within a few days. I lost about 10 + cans of peaches with in a month of buying them. Still in date year to year & 1/2 of best use date. So I go to Wal-Mart buy peaches and pineapple 1.28$ always been fresh and has never lost its seal and spoiled.

Brooke, your creativity and boldness in the kitchen is such an inspiration. I see you do things that I would never think of doing, and yet it always seems so simple and doable. Everything looks delicious, quick and easy. I have dietary issues that won’t always let me use your ideas “as is” but because you get me thinking outside the box I can usually think of an alternative. Even more that any of this, the love shared in your family is truly a bright light in these days. And when you sign off at the end, you make us feel loved too. You are the real deal, Brooke!

Boy, you really outdid yourself with this challenge!! You got a really decent amount of protein and veg into those bellies on an extremely tight budget. Our diet is quite different than your family's because we are very low sodium and we eat very little cheese, but your videos still give me so much inspiration. The way you share your thought process as you look at the options, helps me to think outside the box a bit. I'm getting better at figuring out what I can do with the stuff we already have on hand or the stuff on sale, rather than deciding what I feel like cooking and buying what we need. It saves so much money to think that way. Thanks and keep up the good work Brooke!

Brooke, I love your thinking outside of the box meal ideas, just the way I love to cook! I love being creative with the tomato soup, me and my mom always make it with the milk and add a dash of celery salt and a little sugar to it, adds a little more to it. I do the grilled cheese roll ups in the frying pan and sometime do them with pepper jack cheese and in the tomato soup I will add some salsa and a dash of hot sauce and it makes a great paring!

What is so great about these is they are unique. Not your normal budget meals you think of. So much creativity 🙌. I watch these and think 🤔 why haven't I thought of that? I think we get stuck in a rut of cooking the same old same old and then try things that are to complicated or expensive when we should just think simple.

best proteins at dollar tree: beans; burritos; shrimp or chicken egg rolls (large--single roll-cut in 1/2 after heating); pack of 6 eggs; cheese (fried mozarella sticks are bomb--air fry them); sometimes fish in the freezer section; tuna (cheaper at Walmart); jamaica beef patties (like an empanada) in a crust...the sausage and hot dogs are not bad...dts/usa

Hi Southern Frugal Momma. The Dollar Tree was probably low on selections because it's the first of the month. Loved all the recipes especially the grilled cheese roll ups. Thank you for all the great suggestions.

Fajita mix in beans. You are a god send. I've been trying to google different ways to use meat seasonings that I have on hand because I won't buy slabs of meat, and I want to use what I already have in my pantry. Google is NO HELP. You just get the fancy recipes that call for a billion expensive organic things that no one has the time for anymore. I just want to eat well without needing to buy expensive meat or wasting what I already have, dang it! I'm learning that beans are actually very versatile and I am able to explore what I can with them. I'm excited to try these recipes, thank you!
