I just love that! My son is 15 and loves to help me in the kitchen. He's started writing down my recipes, so he can cook for his family when he gets older. My daughter, who is 28 never was one to enjoy cooking, got married 4 years ago and moved out of state. Now she calls me all the time asking, Mama how do you make....whatever she's missing that day and I just love it!

2 of my boy's were in BSA back 20 years ago. They both learned lots of outdoor cooking skills. One is them does most of the cooking for his family now. Some really yummy looking things when he sends me pictures from Missouri. Every young man needs basic cooking skills!

My hubby is a good cook and I taught our son cooking basics. We now share recipes, his wife is an awesome cook too. I think its important to teach all children cooking basics so they can feed themselves.

Good job boys. I taught my son and daughter to cook. Now teaching my 2 young granddaughters 2 and 4. 4 year old help me make biscuits, eggs,sausage and gravy for her dad. I let her do things she can. Like pat out the sausage, mix up the eggs. Both help me cut up vegetables for pasta salad Saturday. Gave 2 yr old a cutting board and a plastic knife. 4 yr old a steak knife. Was with them the whole time. But they both had fun. My two oldest grandchildren 20 yr .and 14 both can cook I help teach them along with my daughter. It a skill they no longer teach in school.
