@@Kss5757 Thank you, Brooke really is an amazing person that's kind hearted, wholesome and always trying to help anyone that she sees in need. She'll have a few extra jewels in her crown when she gets to heaven! Our boys are pretty stinking awesome as well...I may be a little biased but that's ok. The best part is, they know how special their momma is and how much she sacrifices to give them everything they need.

This is the second time I have watched this video. The first time when it originally ran, and this time when it popped up again. I used it as a reminder video is I knew there were things in there I had forgotten. Times have gotten tougher this is an even better idea now. Since I live by myself I had to alter the amount of food I made at a time or I would be eating each dish for 5 days.. even though you're cooking for five, single people can still get some great ideas of stuff to make. Cheap. 😋 Bless you and your family Brooke. From a Central Florida poor senior citizen.

Great video! My ex was in the Air Force and we bought chicken backs for 5 cents a pound because we lived below poverty level. Dumplin became my name! I could feed so many neighbors! Also, I would have made sweet potato pie with pantry goods.

Loved the ending of your video great advice. There was a time (2 years) in my life I had $40 to $50 a week to feed my family of 4. ( before that I was putting groceries on a credit card for 6 plus years. I just got that credit card paid off a few months ago. And I work in fast food now)

Nothing wrong with saving your chicken bits ever. My grandparents made 3 day pots of lentils with nothing more than chicken necks and herbs, carrots they grew in their garden. My dad and I always saved the backs from our chickens for flavoring big pots of noodles, too.

You did awesome! And no shame in the chicken dumplings using the back meat and odds and ends that’s how my memaw, mom, stepmom, grandma Polack and grandma cookoo all did it only difference they all added poultry seasoning or at least sage but nothing beats the simplicity and warmth than a bowl of chicken and dumplings! This menu was spot on! I also had a good chuckle when you mentioned how your one son just wanted a tomato sandwich- my husband always knew before I did when I was pregnant because I started eating those like they were going out of style. Just toasted white bread with Mayo and sliced tomatoes, salt and pepper - I’d eat them morning, noon and night and snacks in between couldn’t get enough of them and here we are with our youngest and her favorite food in the world is a tomato, she eats them like apples every frickin’ day and has her entire 17 years and our oldest who just gave birth to our first grandchild did the same thing and lived off of tomato sandwiches on toast…maybe something to do with the fact their technically a fruit but are sold as veggies, who cares - their tasty!

My son is in daycare because my husband and I both work so a lot of the things you make for lunch could be dinners for us and with there only being 2 of us I would be able to take the money you spent for 4 or 5 days and get that to last probably 2 weeks for us! Love watching people's extreme grocery hauls ,especially when you do it. You come up with some of the most creative and appetizing meals for your family. I calculated how much these items would cost me. I had to base it all on Walmart, as I live in Oregon and we, sadly, don't have Aldi. My Walmart price would of been $57.74 for the items you listed you purchased. Our watermelon here was DOUBLE what you spent ( 5.98 here) and get this.... 10lb bag of Gold Leaf ( they don't sell Perdue brand 10lb bags of chicken here-- only Gold Leaf) would cost ........$9.08 here!! I about choked when I saw that price! You shopped smart and reasonably priced. Thanks for all you share with us. You are so fun to watch!

I have most of this in my "just in case" pantry. Minus just a handful of things. I took a look in my freezer and pantry and can pull off most of this. A dozen eggs here are around 2.60 a month ago at Aldi and Walmart. I went to the food pantry and got 2 dozen eggs from them. I'm afraid to see how much it has gone up since I last bought them. Anyway, I love watching your videos. I have 3 boys. One of my boys does the faint as well. The other two do thumb up or down. I have two ASD SPD ADHD boys so it is harder to be creative. They should eat a few of these and I'm excited to try. Thank you!

I've been binge watching your frugal meal vids and I love them! Obviously pricing differs here in Canada, but I love these ideas. I freely admit I'm not a skilled cook, and I don't enjoy cooking. It's something I have to do to have food. Many videos on how to cook economically REALLY start with very basic ingredients and assume you are a skilled cook - What I love about your recipes is there are some are suitable for people of all abilities. I''ve learned a lot of ideas from your videos that use things I already buy, like frozen veg and tortillas - but I always make the same three things - because that's all I know. I didn't think my repertoire could be expanded considering my skill level, but many of your vids are totally do-able for me! Many thanks again for all the work you do.

SouthrenFrugalMomma Old Timer's hint for salt ,onion powder or any spice that draws moisture in a jar or can. Wrap a few grains of rice in a cloth tie and place in the jar or can. It will keep spices dry. Just enough to get in the container ,like the little rice bags you get at Weddings.
