I love Blender for making such big update in cycles ,before that render time is way too much but after Blender updated cycles to cycles x render times is 1/10 of previous render time ,in cycles I used to take 1024 samples which takes usually 1 hour for a single still frame now I take 4096 samples which takes 10 minutes for one frame ,way more faster ,

Just a note: While you can still lower samples a bit, it's more effective to use the noise threshold in most scenarios. You can often increase it to 0.02 or 0.03 and see nearly the same speed as lowering samples, but higher overall path resolution

I've gone from 2:20 to 30 sec for a scene I'm working on. With a 5 seconds gap between 2048 and 1024 tiles size. (in favor of the latter) rendered with RTX 2070 optix, that's a significant time saver for 250 frames of animation 😁😁 Btw, I just updated and noticed there was no auto tile size addon anymore, do you know more about why that might be? It might be a good thing, cause I got complacent with tweaking my render settings and relied to much on auto tiles addon in that department! Anyway, great video as always! The only thing that shocked me in the 3.0 update was that in previous versions i could render via Optix (i have an RTX 3060 laptop) but now it says i don't have a compatible GPU. Which is understandable, if they totally changed the render mechanics but the extra rendering speed up is anulated by the fact i can render "just" via Cuda now.

So I have a question. I want to become pro at uv mapping in blender. But I don’t have any models to uv map. I know how to model, but modeling takes time. And I am sure there are many character and environment modelers out there, who don’t want to worry about uv mapping. So I was wondering how would you go about asking people if they need their model uv mapped? Maybe there is a blender community where can offer their services. Thank you. Merry Christmas.

@ДмитроПрищепа-д3я
@ДмитроПрищепа-д3я 3 жыл бұрын
@@ThinkForward0 I don't think there is. Threshold already does that, the amount of samples you set there is the maximum amount that can be rendered if the noise doesn't go away to the threshold. So, if your scene is especially noisy, you can lower the maximum number of samples even more to like 128 or 64. Or set the noise to 0.1. What are your specs, btw? And does blender properly load your pc when rendering?

@DadicekCz
@DadicekCz 3 жыл бұрын
This extremely depends on your rendering hardware and on the scene you're willing to render. You know, 10x faster GPU will give you way better results in some given time. S thing for the scene : when you have an open scene with a few objects that are lit from all sides, you don't really need that many samles and time, but when you're trying to render a completely enclosed interior, especially softly lit, you need a *lot* of samples and time for it to look somewhat acceptable. I think you should just try out different renders with different times and see yourself how your hardware performs in such times :)

I’m actually disappointed with Blender 3 and I switched back to Blender 2.9 because... well, the Asset Browser is a piece of crap. I still append all I want from the project files where I keep assets. It’s easier and faster. Cycles X doesn’t render any faster. And the worst thing is that old versions of Blender addons won’t work in Blender 3. The addons I paid for. This is very disappointing.
