The hd one I ordered for my new scag turf tiger 2 has a big electric motor, it barely clears the right front deck hanger chain and bracket , yours had tons of room on that stand up

Scag cuts better. Swapping for dealer purposes. Z3x is still awesome. Not getting rid of it.

I’m curious since you mentioned recommending the HD because it stays closed, has your experience shown the original to not be strong enough to maintain a closed position under load? I’m a homeowner looking to buy one for my turf tiger, figured the original would be adequate but now I’m second guessing that statement from green guard.

@@SouthernStyleLawnCare thanks for the response, got the HD in the mail yesterday and mounted it up. The scag no-drill mount didn’t work exactly as designed since my older advantage deck has some different dimensions for the discharge mounts, but I was still able to make it work easily with the multitude of hardware included. Glad I didn’t have to drill the deck. This HD motor is STOUT. Also went with the rubber plate since I’m not likely to accidentally slice my leg or something else on it should I do something stupid. No complaints, money well spent.

@@piezoman79 yep I went with the rubber piece as well. He does make a piece that blocks debris from flying up the center when closed if you have that problem. Did you use my code? Save you a little $$. Code Southern style.

They suck, lose power on close and holding open. When closed grass buildup pushes flap open. Waste of $440

We still run and use out daily. We don't expect them to be mulch kits. I also have ran advanced, grass flap, and quickxhute and non will stay fully closed with the 37hp motors.
