I did a little research on Dorman and found out something I thought was interesting. Dorman was once considered a very good supplier of quality made items, very few of which were manufactured overseas. In 1994 Dorman was sold to R&B inc. who immediately began to outsource part manufacture to the lowest bidder. Quality and consistency was questionable, cost became the focus of the company, and the new owners traded heavily on Dormans established reputation for reliable long lasting parts. Unfortunately this happens far too often to good companies with good reputations.

So different wire but I knew what to look for on both ends because of this info so thank you sir!
@thardie3 жыл бұрын
Hi Eric! Love your channel, and love the methodical way you troubleshoot things. I own a bunch of these civics, and have the official service manual. At around 12 minutes in your video, your diagnostic tool shows there's a connector in the middle (C452) - This is where the wiring harness from the ECM connects to the wiring harness that runs to the back of the vehicle. IIRC, this connector is under the middle console just in front of the cup holders. You'll might have to take out the middle console where the gear shift is, but I bet your problem is either at that connector, or like you eluded to, damage in the harness above that. If you do want to check behind the car stereo, it's a little tricky. Remove the cigarette lighter panel (just snaps in), and the directly above it, there are 2 bolts. 1 in the middle, and 1 on the right (They're really small, like 8mm, I think). After those 2 are out, the whole center dash with the climate controls, vents above it and all, just snaps out. Again, Love the great way you show your work and the methodical troubleshooting! Keep up the AWESOME work!

I had rigged up a smoke machine but just ended up wiggling & jiggling everything. I have a feeling it was an electric connestion. Did see some hoses I need to replace. I just need to change anti-freeze, brake fluid & power steering fluids. Its an '07 Galant with I believe a mineral oil solution of some kind. I googled and a Valvoline synthetic came up. After reading into it the Valvoline wasn't recommended for a non-synthetic pump. Luckily I found a better match through Parts Geeks I think. I don't feeel like looking it up. Anyway thanks for sharing. I also need to find the parasitic draw that only really gets bad in the winter. I found a draw on the door lock fuse.
