Hi peter Yet another brilliant tutorial and an easy way of doing electrics and keeping track and lighting away from each other.

on thin wires , burn the end with a gas lighter, the outer covering comes off without damaging the wire

Stupid question, but could you explain how the actual bus works? What is seperating the current in the bus? How does all the power not run together between each terminal. Are sections insulated from each other? Thanks a bunch!
@chelmswoodjunction2 жыл бұрын
the bus wiree system works using blocks the top row has one red wire goes to pin 1 and out on pin 5 to the next block same as the bacl in one 6 out on 10. then the bus wires go to the track from the bottom of the block ie red pin 1 black pin 6 to the same piece of track etc etc

Great video but how did you connect the variable voltage supply to your bus wire as these units come fitted a variety of ends
@chelmswoodjunction3 жыл бұрын
Hi Steve The answer to your question is a very easy one I cut the end off and used the wires as you normally would. Hope the answer helps. Peter

With the multi voltage adapter what colour is the positive wire? Barra.

The positive wire if I remember should be the one side with white on it. Hope this helps. Peter

How do you connect the wire from the lights to the main power?
@chelmswoodjunction3 жыл бұрын
Hi chris The wire from the lights go to one of the positive blocks and the other to the negative and the block itself is powered by a 12 volt multi voltage adapter plug set at 3 volts for the lights. Hope this helps. Peter

i have 3 volt supply do I still need resistor and if so what size
@chelmswoodjunction2 жыл бұрын
Hi kendra If the power supply is 3 volts and the items you wire into the terminal blocks are 3 volt then they will be fine without resistors but if the plug voltage is higher than the item i would consult with the manufacturer for resistor size. Hope this helps. Peter

how did you wire up your voltage adapter to the block did you cut the wire and fix it to a block brilliant video
@chelmswoodjunction3 жыл бұрын
Hi Paul You have answered your own question that's exactly how I did it just cut the multi voltage adapter of cut the wire and then done negative to black and positive to red and then daisy changed the blocks. Peter

Just came across your video, very interesting, going to use 12volts as the supply, do all the lights come with resistors or do you buy them separately
@chelmswoodjunction2 жыл бұрын
Hi richard Yes all the lights come with resisters supplied with the order but when ordering speak to them on how your going to power them. Peter

Hi. Thanks for the video. Considering doing lighting on my layout for the first time and using Kytes Lights so a wee search brought this up. Like the idea of those connectors, I've been using the Wago connectors which are a similar idea. One question, how many lights can you run off of one transformer?
@chelmswoodjunction4 жыл бұрын
at the moment I have one multi voltage adapter running at 3 volts and at the mo I have 26 street platform and depot lights and 4 double led lights all on that one circuit. multi voltage adapter cost me £9.99 from ebay and well worth the money.
