Because law enforcement is training those businesses how to identify the fake bills. If how to identify fake bills are reported in media, the counterfeiters will correct the mistake, thus making identifying fake bills will become even more difficult.

They use a counting machine with a serial duplicator scanner. It records every serial # in a stack, then spits out any duplicate notes. Then records that #, for any future runs. Serial info is then passed to other banks to program their machines. Bill user most likely had no idea they were spending counterfieit $...Especially being near the casinos...

The information is widely available to everyone, via the Treasury Department. The banks don't have any secrets. The bank simply has high tech equipment that automates the process, but a well trained clerk could spot the bd bills with a manual inspection.

Guessing the top one is real. Can't be sure though from an image. In person, the quickest way is look at the denomination at lower right. The color changing ink is very difficult to fake. Should have some texture too. Best way to avoid issues is not accepting high denomination bills to begin with.

UV light and marker are useless for detecting fake bills. You have to feel the paper the jackets on the presidents have ridges if they are smooth fake bill. Pretty simple also the color changes on the number its a bit reflective.

The banks should be providing people with services or devices to verify authenticity. The banks know the serial numbers and how a bill should look like. A scanner connected to the internet that sends the image to a person or software at the bank should be developed.
