​@Morristown337 I think you misunderstood the charge. The charge was smuggling Contraband into a Detention Facility. The charge would be the same whether it was marijuana, a cell phone, or unsanctioned chocolate bars. Smuggling ANYTHING into a jail is a felony in almost every jurisdiction.

Unfortunately I have seen this first hand and no the difference is bringing tobacco in is a misdameanor and they are charging her with a felony because it is weed. Everyone in my county is expected to bring in tobacco to be able to get into a cell and not sleep in the floor of the hallway in the block. Getting caught with tobacco is going to the hole but no court. Weed is court. @@CanadaMatt

The drugs are usually fronted. Given to them for "free", to deliver, receive payment, and get paid from that. I say "free" because they are risking their own, & their families, lives if they steal it or get caught. Usually, if they get caught, they have a chance to repay them. But if they're in prison it can fall on family, who may or may not even have known
