I like to chase enemy carriers and destroy their planes when they attack me in Halland. Then I go home and play Blitz. lolol, jokes aside, I think the Soviet Carriers need the Rocket Planes from PC Version instead of Torp Bombers.

Well, I think it'd have been a lot more work to add a new game mechanic, instead, it's a new skill that needs only a tweak in some numbers.

Sooo... what are you supposed to do without fighters & T6 and 8? Your planes get shot down before you can actually contribute to the fight, since every other AC has fighters.

In world of warships (not blitz) the Soviet paper fleet carriers have armour piercing rockets I was hoping to see that mechanic for them to give it some spice but oh well I'm not a carrier player at all but I would have jumped on board if they had rockets at their disposal but I'll continue with my Soviet bb progress which I'm enjoying with a side of dd every now and then when it's not hailing shells over my head

So Russian officials wanted to build carriers, and they wanted to be able to beat their enemies. So they adopted the “Banzai!!!” Tactics and I’m guessing is workijg😂 . Im looking forward for this line because I haven’t been too successful with the German CVs

Britain and American CVs are nub friendly.... Bogue and Independence are best carrier on its tier... Avoid T7 CV meta Litterally being a punching bag for kagas and Saipan user in this tier . Lexington is average CV while Impleccable was a Great T8 CV just second to Shokaku in Damage output.. Essex and Midway cause Fires most of times, Best Fighters on Game... while Audicous and Malta planes are tanky, fast and its Carpet bombing is good to Supress Enemy DDs...also the Preparation/Squadron reload are the most quick amongst all CVs IJN CV line????? Shokaku and Taiho deals tons of damage but you need a lot of skill to multi task

Ah, I was remembering the name, but not always sure 😊 In more capable hands than mine, RU CVs might work, e.g. if they group up the strike wings to minimise damage, but then again, that sort of negates the gimmick. Who knows. Carriers, eh..

The dive bombers give me Japanese dive bomber vibes, in their very questionable dispersion. I agree with your conclusion, you would fare better using the torpedo bomber module, since the dive bombers are pathetic. PC Soviet CV's do indeed get the one flight attack gimmick, but whereas here they have low HP, in PC all planes (except fighters and spotter aircraft) are tanky because AA is a joke in PC. Anyway, I would still like to play this abysmal line of CV's, I am ashamed to say, but I am a Tier IX CV player, currently on the Essex, around 300K away from Midway. Japanese line Tier VI as well as on the British and German CV line. I don't play CV a lot, so I won't say I know a lot about them, I would always take a surface ship over a CV any day :)

I can't really say much in terms of where this line fits in, since I don't really play CV - although I'm kinda keen to keep going on the "easy" USN line, I'm at independence there. I think I'll have a better idea when playing against them in surface ships, and to see how many planes I can take down.

@@FunandGameswithTerry It kinda feels like just throwing a lot of planes at the enemy's AA gun crews, kind of a combination of the German CV line that throws a lot of planes at the enemy, but giving it's dive bombers very questionable dispersion. I would also recommend buff the German dive bomber dispersion a bit, since it is also bad. I feel that this might work if you have more planes in the hangar, since their low HP pool balances it with being able to shoot the entire squadron down.

German dive bombers have the AP bomb gimmick - yes, USN DBs can and will set triple fires, but no damacon helps against citadel hits 😂

@@FunandGameswithTerry That is true, and it's satisfying getting a citadel hit in one. I do feel they are easy to shoot down though, or maybe the Weser planes. August von Parseval planes seem a bit tankier, and Manfred's in 4 squadrons is terrifying. The new Russian CV's seem lacking, except in maybe their torpedoes. Nakhimov is a good question, might be good, might not be.

I'm not a carrier player, just like you, but I think the line in general is not the best line to play, more like the german line, a fun line, but won't be a really good alternative to the British, Japanese or United States carriers. Maybe I'm wrong and the high tier ones are damage dealers like no good, but all the stats don't seem that impressive and the skill, naw I don't know. Long COVID ist größtenteils vorbei, nur der Schlafrhythmus is noch im Eimer - ich wache normalerweise gegen 5 Uhr morgens auf, egal, wann ich schlafen gehe. Musste aber auf alternative Heilmethoden zurückgreifen, die Schulmedizin hat da nur mit den Schultern gezuckt. Haus wird langsam, aber wird wohl noch ein paar Monate dauern; ist schwer, Material zu bekommen. Die Energie hängt auch immer von Tagesform und vom Schiff ab. Ich habe normalerweise nur am Wochenende Zeit, Videos aufzunehmen - und wenn's eine harte Woche auf der Arbeit war, und dann noch ein Schiff, mit dem ich nicht wirklich zurecht gekommen bin, dann kann's schon mal hart sein. Mit Trägern habe ich eh keinen Anspruch an mich selbst, da irgendein gutes Ergebnis to bekommen, und sich selbst auf die Schippe zu nehmen, macht auch immer extra Spaß. Ist immer schon überraschend, wie viel die Zuschauer so mitbekommen :)

That's because the game crashed, and it re-counted every ribbon afterwards. I had a flood before, but it was gone from the restart, so when I caused another one, it updated the total count. Confused me as well at first.

Those things are going to be the first line I skip completely. Firstly because they seem to rely entirely on silly tricks. Secondly because not even one of them is “real”. Seriously, just because someone sketched out some plans to show that they were working and shouldn’t be handed a rifle and sent to the front doesn’t mean the ships make any sense for the game.

Well, half the tech trees in the game are paper ships (or just plain made up), which is always a bit confusing, since there are plenty of real ships around that could be used instead, but the Soviet Union wasn't really known as a massive naval power...

@@FunandGameswithTerry My issue is that not a single one of them ever got past a basic conceptual stage. Most other lines will have one or two or more ships that actually entered service. And I definitely feel that not every nation needs to have all the classes represented.

Bah. I initially thought that by 'confidential' you meant perhaps the borodino or something, but as soon as other ccs made videos on this new abominable line before thursday, I knew that surely it would not be about that borodino but about something far, far, worse. 😅 Ships that are great in wowspc due to unexisting mechanics in wowsb will not be great when ported into wowsb. Absolutely not excited with this upcoming addition at all. No dambuster bombs and no rockets = vanilla carriers line = severely watered down versions of the ones in pc = overpriced, complete waste of time and money. Just like that wowsb MvR i sold that and rebought the hakuryu, never looked back ever since. The concept and design of the gimmick is, extremely politely speaking; just not smart. Nobody sane wants to deliberately lose planes just so the next strike group can be prepped a bit faster. But, from another perspective, I guess for me this is sort of good news. I get to save again money and playtime by not having to go up this new line, I can fully concentrate to grind the chinese light cruisers line instead. 😅

Sorry to disappoint, I'll be sure to review Borodino as soon as she becomes available. I can't really pass judgement on the CVs. I might do a T8 review, but I sure as heck won't be touching T10. Can you imagine me with 3 torpedo wings, and you need to keep them together if you don't want them wiped from the sky? I'm actually curious to see how well my AA cruisers are going to fare.

What I am really hoping to see is a Ragnar complete review, Terry. As currently I am halfway through the gustav merkel grind, and I really want to know whether it is worth me the time to continue till I reached the Elbing, or should I just drop this merkel grind altogether and hope to someday be able to just buy the Ragnar from the shop instead. Is it going to be unique, or is it just going to be a watered down copy of the one in PC, that I am excited to find out. I am not really a battleship fanboy so no battleship reviews are not a problem to me at all. 😁 And yes, in my opinion newer cv lines coming means more values on keeping strong AA ships in port as alternative options.

@@FunandGameswithTerry this I pay particular attention to do so. I have lots of t9 ships in the middle of their grinds and quite some T10 stocks. I initially wanted to save BPs for my Henri, Nevskiy, and soon to be Des Moines. But I guess I will just prioritize the BPs for the chinese CLs first instead. 😀 That BP problem is a really frustrating problem, at least to me. I really wish that idiotic system is erased and replaced by the saner xp based modules upgrade system just like in the wotb.

I'm keen to review Ragnar as well. I think I may have misjudged Elbing somewhat initially, before I got my mind around the DD / scout cruiser separation. Might need to do a follow-up.

Overpowered if the Kaga is overpowered enough I don't know how much these will ruin the game because they overwhelm AA and you end up shooting like 3 planes down Tier 6 and 8 sucks but tier 10 is

I can't really pass a judgement here, since I don't play CV enough to make that call, but I feel that they're somewhat weak. Yes, you can bunch up your airwings, such that the first one takes the AA and dies, probably another one on the way out, but they get the ordnance off. The problem is, for someone like me, who's not very coordinated with air wings, I'll lose the first one to fighters on the way in, and then I need to readjust the torpedo wings a couple of times, or drop them all over the place if I try to bunch them up. I think for most "normal" players, it's a relatively forgiving line for having some fun, but it'll take a good player to make it dangerous.
