I saved a man who had suffered a cardiac arrest. I was just walking past on the school run and saw him on the ground. I performed cpr until the paramedics arrived. When the ambulance and air ambulance arrived, they said I had, without a doubt, saved his life. A couple of months later he saw me going past and came out to hug me and thank me. At the time, I was quite shaken but so glad I knew what to do. Well done! Xxx

How moving it was to read that you and Charlie used skills from your recent first aid training to provide critical roadside care. I can't imagine how scary that real-world emergency was, but you kept calm and saved a life. Both your competency and compassion have set an example for all of us on how we can better equip ourselves to help others in times of crisis. You truly are both incredible human beings and how lucky was that lady that you came along at her time of need.

Charlie may have stumbled upon a new career path. Training as an EMT could be such an asset to your community, because 2 hours for an ambulance is dangerous. A defibrillator is probably in order especially considering your mother is up in years. This could be a wake up call.
@mrslovely1519

I very much doubt Charlie would give up his current occupation for the very low paid, unsociable hours, being abused, spat on and attacked of an EMT, tbh.

I think what was said was additional training for understanding 🤔 more life saving techniques. Aka an EMT course of some kind 😊. People are waking up and realizing a lot has changed.

@@christinealton350 I don't know how old she is, but the point is they are apparently far away from medical care, if this woman was having to wait 2 hours for an ambulance for lifesaving care. I wouldn't be comfortable with that for myself let alone my mother who would be possibly more vulnerable. She also seems to be there alone when they are on trips, unless someone stays with her. Either way, not close to help in an emergency. A drawback to living where they do.

@@christinealton350 - she's quite a bit older that that, there's a fairly big age gap between Josie and her brother (from her Mum's first marriage) so I think she had Josie when she was older. She's early 70's I'd say.

We live by the ocean and we love walking in the wet sand and the water it makes you feel so wonderful. I also have some thick green ground covering in my front yard and I stand on it regularly and let the hot sun warm my back. Nothing like being in Gods creation!💮😍😘🤗🌺

I worked all afternoon in my yard - I think I got well grounded while sitting on the grass pulling weeds! I so enjoy seeing your lovely garden, even in winter. Very proud of you and Charlie for saving that lady - as a retired nurse I can second your recommendation that everyone needs to take a first-aid class. If you have room in your car add a small blanket to your first aid kit. Well done, Josie. Your fan in SC.

Josie and Charlie thank God you took the first aide course and stopped to help her❤. Josie you were so calm reporting this, much respect for your deportment. Again, thank God the lady got the help she needed. Thankful you both are ok and that you stopped to help her❤. Impressed to hear about Charlie’s capabilities in a time of crisis, but not surprised. He seems very capable if necessary. Again, Josie super calm although I know you most likely did not feel that way. I need to level up my first aide kit in my car and get one for my beloved granddaughter💯

Well done for stopping for that lady and pleased to hear she is doing well. We had to call the police to get into an elderly lady's house last week where we found her on the floor, and had been there for over a day. I used my first aid whilst we waited for the ambulance. For sure if we'd not spotted she hadn't opened the curtains, goodness knows how long she would have been there, and if she'd still be alive now. It is very sobering when you assist another person in the face of urgency. Puts all things into perspective. I must highlight the amazing work of our NHS workers and A&E. They are absolutely oudstanding in the face of all the difficulties they have to encounter in this current climate of funding (lack of). Their dedication and passion is second to none. I have absolute admiration. One nurse told me the average waiting time in A&E that day was 9 hours and although some days she feels burnt out, she loves her job. I'm a psychological therapist and know our services are just as stretched. Taking time to look out for each other is more important than ever, and access a first aid course if you can too, it may save a life.

I find myself wanting to say something comforting to you - to help calm the adrenaline.... again - can't come up with anything profound! Just - that you guys are her guardian angels and it was so fortunate for her that you had some training and supplies! On a completely different note..... I wanted to share with you that my niece and my grand daughters have started watching you! I took my grands to a large mall in our area, and we would walk into a store, and they would say things like "Oh! this is a Josie store!" So fun! Thank you for all you do.

I think empty cardboard loo roll holders are an amazing idea and they keep the heat in too and especially for sweet peas who have tender roots. I don't have much success with them but will try again. As for nutrition good luck with your course - always valuable. I once asked a nutritionist what was the worse thing to eat and she said sugar.

Meal prep all your dry ingredients & keep in small jars or zip lock bags. I use IKEA ‘s little square glass containers with clip lids. Then meal prep all your frozen ingredients & continue to keep in freezer in zip lock bags. Flatten out & they will stack then sit them upright like a file so you can date rotate. I started doing it this way as sometimes either would be used on Greek yogurt. Of course you can put it altogether in zip lock bags to save space in the freezer.

That’s so great that you even stopped! So many people would have just continued to drive by…. So great you were able to help. ❤ kindness is truly hard to find these days.

Wow - well done to the two of you. You genuinely should feel so proud of yourselves - because not everyone has the courage or knowledge to step in in the way you did. From what you say as well it sounds like Charlie was wonderful - he has that vibe about him of getting things done with hyper focus - often just what’s needed! I hope she makes a full recovery - poor thing to be taken ill in such a place by the side of the road. 💗🙏x

I saved my daughter's life last November as she has Type 1 diabetes and went into DKA and I instinctively phoned an ambulance and she was worked on for 2 hours in Resus and it took even longer to stabilise her. I am on alert now with her and quick action is paramount. You and Charlie should be so proud of what you did for that lady and it was lovely that you praised Charlie for his quick thinking but you both played a part in her care and that is wonderful.
