This is stunning! I love how easy you make things. I was searching a stitch, so many confusing videos, weird text instructions. You explain in clear, short words that match exact what you are doing. No extra fluff or talking during an instruction on how you found a sheep in the road one day or something that makes it hard to follow, great job!!

Thank you! When I first started knitting about 2 years ago I was so happy to find and subscribe to your channel. I love knitting mittens in the round using 5 double point needles. This will be a beautiful addition between the ribbing and the stockinette color work.

Thank you for showing! I was just wiondering: Won't we have increase the number of stitches by 1? You explained that we need an odd number of stitches and I counted 25 stitches in the end of your demonstration. Greetings from Luxembourg.

I am currently knitting a raglan sweater from the top down. Being as I will be knitting the sleeves last, ending with a rib stitch pattern for the cuff, is there any way I can incorporate the Estonian Braid before I get to the rib pattern at the cuff?

I haven’t tried it, but I don’t think it will be a problem

Great video and explanation of the Estonian Braid. Using this technique now to embellish an otherwise plain raglan sweater. What other stitches might be combined with this braid technique to create a decorative band. I am attempting to use this braid just below the neckline rib, right above the waistline rib and on the sleeve cuffs. Also, is it more traditional to use it with a 1x1 or 2x2 rib? Would love any suggestions you care to make or where I can find design resources using this braid. Thank you again.

Can this be done if you are knitting in the round?

I think so, but I haven’t tried yet

@@sowoolly I wondered this too. But as long as there's a full knit row between rows of increases, I think it should work. If you're increasing back to back rows then I think it would maybe get a little dicey. I'm working a sweater in the round and I think I'll use this method!

I noticed there are 25 stitches at the end, where you started with 24. Where do we 'lose' the extra stitch if the pattern calls for just the original even number of stitches? ThanX
