Hey Jason, I don’t know if you are aware but hazelnuts are great food for pigs! Also it is a shrub , not a tree and bares fruit in a year. You may want to consider planting some around the pig area to supplement you food supply.

🇦🇺Having shelters with the black water tanks in each pasture would be a great back up water supply especially in the winter. Even having multiple black tanks per shelter would be good. You never know if something might happen frozen pipes, droughts etc.

Hi, Lorraine 👋. . . The coveralls are best a little big. They shrink a bit with each washing and when they fit fashionably comfortable, they don't keep you as warm. That extra space in between layers is what gives the warmth. Each layer of air between layers acts like a baffle or buffer of warmth. In winter loose will keep you warmer ONCE you get moving. In summer it actually does the reverse as it gives a place to sweat and THEN wick the moisture aeay from your skin keeping you cooler. This is why you always used to see farmers in overalls even in summer 😂

So interesting ur comments on layers in the green house! We built a similar greenhouse, a bit bigger, and we have 55 layers in there, yep, it gets dusty. Being from MN I had to wait for a day above freezing, I drug a hose out and watered down the whole green house ground. Very helpful! I definitely did not want wood chips all over. I did buy a few bags of pine shavings, it helped. Being from MN we got frost built up on the inside of the roll-up sides and eventually they got bored and loved pecking at the ice/ frost 😮💨 put in a couple small holes, I taped them up and put the electric netting all around the sides so they can't do that. It isn't hot, but they just stay away. I am not sure I will put them in there again or not. DEFINITELY toasty warm in there when the sun shines, but not so sure that it is good to fluctuate that much in 24 hours for chickens.
